Drive to Cumbria for funeral tomorrow. Horrid drive. It has briefly stopped raining.

Tomorrow's task should be putting guttering on the new shed, putting down another paving slab and installing the water butt on it. However, I think the weather gods have decreed otherwise.

I had to deal with workmen today. This meant I ended up in the gym at 2am trying to tire myself out as my brain was stressed by their imminent arrival and not letting me sleep. While they were here it was very stressful. But the old shed has been demolished & a new shed base has appeared.

There has been an awful lot of military plane activity over my obscure fenland village recently, which is strongly correlated with the reports of Russian airspace incursions across parts of NATO. Yesterday it was fighter planes doing exercises. Today this has just gone overhead (noisy bugger).

Wondering when this will move into first place. Within the hour is my best guess given the rate people are signing it.

Last time I saw a petition grow this fast it was the "uh, no, we didn't expect you to actually implement an advisory referendum without a supermajority. Please stop Brexit now." one.

I'll say this for Starmer. He really does know how to motivate and mobilise people.
September 25, 2025 at 7:47 PM
There is something very cathartic watching it tick up.
September 25, 2025 at 5:54 PM

Henrietta was willing Farmer Mansplain to stop droning on about crop percentages and the water content of the harvested grain and go and check on the harvesting team so she could check young David's vital statistics instead.

Agnes had confused the dates for the Wargrave Britain First march with the Sherlock Holmes Appreciation Society annual jamboree, again. But if she hid her meerschaum pipe she might just get away with it.

This could only have been worse if they had used Oscar.

Someone said to me today that they were surpised I didn't eat out very often. This is the menu from one of the local "casual dining" places near me. The prices speak for themselves.
