I used to referee a bit, including top quality womens’ game. It’s was normal to see make refs reffing women’s’ games. To see the reverse is wonderful.
And I know the standard you have to reach to referee a top level international: you have to be awesome. Hollie Davidson is a great ref.

The thing is, I get a sense that the world is hoping that Europe takes on the USA in a financial arm-wrestle caused by Greenland. It would damage the US (which everyone wants), damage Europe (which US and China want) and weaken the west so significantly. No-one (and least of all the US) wins.

I mean, sure, if there was a war and they snuck up on some soldiers by adopting the trappings of civil aviation, you might call it a war crime. But since there wasn’t one and they snuck up on some civilians who were probably fishermen and at worst drug dealers, it’s just fuckin murder.
