2026.

I want to be a voice actor in one (1) video game.

I want to officiate one (1) wedding.

These are my demands.

My reasoning: I am legitimately way more qualified than anyone who is currently in charge of pretty much anything, so you all should let me.

Hot take? Unpopular opinion? Unsure, but...

I do not like how the new Animal Crossing hotel feature brings so many tourists to the island. It ruins the whole narrative- villagers starting over somewhere simpler and more peaceful. There's like 100% more folks on the map, now! Too crowded.

“It seems that our legislative assemblies have adopted Nero as their patron saint and are bent on fiddling while our cities burn… That is the sickness of racism, excessive materialism and militarism. Not only is this our nation’s dilemma, it is the plague of western civilization.” -MLKJ, 1967

The Atlantic's story profiling government employees is heartbreaking. One was working on an artificial retina. One was a technical wizard in the Space Force with an advanced education paid for by you and me but was transgender.
The Purged
Donald Trump’s destruction of the civil service is a tragedy not just for the roughly 300,000 workers who have been discarded, but for an entire nation.

We need to pick up this Overton Window and throw it as far as we can. Stop waiting for shit to “be popular” and start advocating for what is transparently right.

The project I am quietly working on reached a threshold, today, where I said, "Oh no, this is happening, and it's going to be really good." I proceeded to feel nauseous for the rest of the afternoon, as is my way.

I never grew out of stage fright or imposter syndrome. I just do stuff, anyway.

Every story we grew up with makes it clear: There is no controlling evil for the sake of good. The One Ring corrupts completely and must be destroyed. Any faction with a planet-destroying laser is bad.

What in history possibly could have inspired these metaphors? What could they mean now?? HMMM

Felt compelled to pop into Animal Crossing: New Horizons today. I hadn't touched it in 5.5 years. It was surprisingly emotional to see myself- bass guitars, monstera, record player, sewing machines, heart-shaped sunglasses, beret.

Hi folks, I'm seeing a lot of "Eyes on Minneapolis" & "We support Minnesota" sentiment. Here's a tangible way you can help:

Trump just suspended federal funding for SNAP benefits to Minnesota. Second Harvest Heartland is an MN-based hunger-relief org.

Please donate what you can.

losing my mind at the "she should have followed directions" people

really? really? you're cool with "if you don't follow directions, they get to kill you"? that seems like a good state of affairs to you? that seems like how law enforcement ought to work: instant obeisance or death?

It's very clear from the commentary exploding on the timeline right now that hardly anyone outside Chicago knows ICE shot and killed a man in his car here in the fall.

It's probably not your fault—too much news.

But if you're choosing to jump in & *report* today, please contextualize. Thanks.

Came up with an idea that I wish I could follow through on:

"Make it Stop," a video essay series on why beloved IP should stop creating content. Star Wars. The Simpsons. The MCU. Adventure Time.

Unfortunately, I am a woman, and having these opinions on the Internet could actually get me killed!

You’re pushed on by numbers and punitive measures: pain, rejection, and unpaid bills. You can either play or you can crawl under a boat and waste away -- turn into salt or a flock of seagulls. Your enemies would love that. Or you can fight. The only way to load the dice is to keep on fighting.

I miss people inviting me to be in cosplay groups, but I recognize that 1. I only go to 2-3 cons a year and 2. There's like a 50% chance I won't finish the costume I committed to, due to medical reasons, laziness, or sewing incompetence. Groups are for finishers!

2025 was about seeing just how much Americans would allow.

2026, it seems, is about seeing just how much the world will allow.

Feels like the natural result of shrugging, insisting we all wait to vote again, and focusing on "kitchen table issues," but what do I know?

not to go all identity politics but I think it’s also because the victims are women
one takeaway from the grok noncon porn thing is that much of the media just isn't interested in an issue they can't pretend has two sides or that doesn't give them an opportunity to shit on the left. Also it would be uncomfortable to justify remaining on twitter after acknowledging it
