It might be that most of the petrochemical types are just humoring Trump to get tax breaks.
At this point the oil barons hardly even care (they can pivot to renewables too). It’s just gender and internal combustion brain
It’s almost like green energy is the only way forward and a handful of oil barons are doing everything in their power to keep that from happening so they can get even richer at the cost of literally everything else in the world.

Keir Starmer explicitly backs Trump's attack on Venezuela.

Says he has "long supported" getting rid of Maduro, who is an "illegitimate President" and "we shed no tears about the end of his regime".

This photo, the "situation room" at Mar-a-Lago, which features a decor borrowed from Spirit Halloween, is clearly meant to compete with the iconic photo of Obama but it's mostly Hegseth looking like he's trying to remember his Outlook password.

It's amazing how one dictator Maduro is somehow under the jurisdiction of US law despite never killing an American but war criminal Netanyahu is somehow not under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court despite killing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza.

The point of business operations under a dictatorship is not efficiency and value but is graft and patronage. Exploitation of Venezuelan resources will not rebound to the good of the Venezuelan people.
"We are going to run [Venezuela] until such time as we can do a safe, proper and judicious transition" to another Government, Trump says.

"As everyone knows the oil business in Venezuela has been a bust, a total bust for a long period of time".

Says he will run it better.

If I were a player from South America I'd refuse.
at this point it's especially hard to see how the world cup can take place in the US - there are bound to be large numbers of players who refuse to travel here, let alone the fiasco of trying to sell tickets to fans from other countries

and if that collapses the olympics probably will as well
The world must boycott the World Cup and the Olympics.

It is both the only moral choice and will actually get the attention of these dead-eyed clout demons.

IED materials in Caracas just tripled in price.
FOX & FRIENDS: What do you think is next for the Venezuelan people now that you have removed Maduro so he can face American justice?

TRUMP: Well, we're making that decision now. We can't take a chance on letting somebody else run it, just take over where he left off. So we're making that decision

There are chilling words and a telling comparison as we head towards elections in 2026 and 2028.
FOX: Will you throw your support behind María Corina Machado?

TRUMP: Well, we're gonna have to look at it. Right now, they have a VP as you know. But the election of Maduro was a disgrace just like my election was a disgrace. 2020 was a disgrace -- a real disgrace -- now 2024 was too big to rig.
