More people need to read "Why does he do that?" because a great deal of people are bullied and we don't turn into abusers. The narrative these people are victims is perverse to the goal of stopping abuse because it's not only false but contributes the cycle.

Great to see @zackpolanski.bsky.social on @skynewsrss.bsky.social this morning standing up for trans people.

It’s clear that Trevor Phillips was trying to trap Zack by not giving him all the facts! Martine Croxall not only eye rolled, she changed a direct quote - unethical for a journalist!

There is literally not one person who can exist in modern society without using the big tech platforms daily, at least indirectly. That doesn’t mean it’s futile to try to reduce dependency or investment, but I also am not judging anyone harshly for that, least of all those who are most vulnerable.
Before I go to bed, unfriendly reminder that boycotting Amazon and other services is just *not feasible* for some people. Income, disability, access to other services, lack of transportation, delivery fees, etc.

It doesn't mean they're "complicit". It means they're a victim of capitalism too.

This is a literal nightmare.

As a global civilization, we haven't even begun slowing the rise in greenhouse gases yet. Starting a *privatized* geoengineering project at this point in history will make the global climate crisis even worse.

- Extreme weather is not a threat to human welfare

I mean this isn’t what I’m saying. I don’t think we should even discuss reducing migration because a) I think migration is a good thing and b) nobody has ever been able to show me evidence that reducing it would have a positive effect on anything
This whole debate has become absurd. Obviously forced deportation of settled residents is deeply unjust and completely unnecessary. But the idea promoted on this site that one cannot even discuss reducing immigration lest it helps fascists is irrational and counterproductive. /1
I sat in the British Library reading League of Empire Loyalists, BNP & National Front literature for my book and even they claimed to promote *voluntary* repatriation. Forcible deportation was always the ghost behind those ideas, but it’s amazing that UK politicians don’t even bother to hide it.

This is HUGE

A court has ruled that TotalEnergies has misled consumers by presenting itself as a “major player in the energy transition”.

It is the first judgement in the world ruling an Oil & Gas major has misled the public by greenwashing its image.

This is very cool as a visual and also yes I agree that a whole lot of people have not/do not want to realise this. It will reduce traffic to the busiest area, thereby reducing traffic in the ‘thru’ zones, without reducing access TO the ‘thru’ zones
I made an infographic map. Oxford's Congestion Charge scheme (from 29th Oct) is not like most congestion charge schemes, because you can get to most streets in the city without being charged. My impression is a lot of people haven't realised this.
