People with disabilities face huge barriers to accessing work – and when they are working, are underpaid by an average of £4,000 a year. But employers don't even need to report their disability pay gaps, let alone work to close them.

📣 The economy must work for the people who keep the country running, not corporations and billionaires.

Ahead of the Budget later this month, we brought this message to the streets of London. Watch our new video from the day thousands marched to say: tax the rich! www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyTd...

To be clear, what is being proposed here is to axe the main mechanism for getting Britain’s homes insulated - which is by FAR the best way to reduce household energy bills in the long term 🤦‍♂️

…and also, just incidentally, an absolute non-negotiable requirement for meeting UK climate targets 😬🥵☠️

💸The names of multinational corporations that cheated on billions in tax in the US was kept from the public. Our gov’t had the tax records but didn’t make them public. Doing so could’ve recovered $159 Billion #NameTheTaxCheaters #TaxJustice2025

🚨 BREAKING: The government has tabled their plan to restrict repeat protests.

Demonstrations could now banned based on the 'cumulative disruption' that previous protests have caused in the area - regardless of if they have been organised by the same people or not.

This is worse than we feared.

I think that trivialises the issue.

The super rich pay *proportionately* less tax than the poor. I suggest that is unfair to poorer people. equalitytrust.org.uk/news/press-r...

Also there are £46 billion in uncollected taxes.

In just one day, someone in the richest 0.1% will produce more carbon pollution than half the world's population produce in a year according to new research from Oxfam. Inequality and pollution are inextricably linked. We need to #MakeRichPollutersPay

Same pollution. Different worlds. But only one pays the price.

“A small London home can pay nearly the same council tax as a £50M Mayfair mansion — that clearly isn't right.”

Our own Caitlin Boswell explaining why the rumoured mansion tax would be an inadequate tinker. We need wholesale reform to raise serious cash & actually improve people's lives.

Great piece from @pollytoynbee.bsky.social on how our calls for the Chancellor to #TaxTheBanks (amongst other progressive tax proposals) are being drowned out by powerful lobbyists.

In last week's poll, our supporters trusted grassroots democracy more than national politicians to tax the richest, and a majority wanted citizens assemblies with tax and spend powers.

Reeves has said she can’t "leave welfare untouched" – now that's scary. Cuts are still terrifying people with disabilities. We need the government to rule out taking their support away with the same zeal they rule out taxing the super rich.

"It's time to tax the banks."
Analysis from @positivemoneyuk.bsky.social has found that the big 4 UK banks made £24.1 billion in just six months this year. That's nearly £1 billion every week from higher interest rates: they're just sitting there letting huge profits roll in from our higher mortgages and rents.
Tax them.
