Lmaoooo all you Hakeem Knows What He's Doing folks gotta just stop before you hit send
If you want to know what people mean when they say Democrats are "controlled opposition," rather than whipping votes against ICE funding, Hakeem Jeffries struck a deal with Republicans to allow Democrats to feign outrage at ICE while still funding the spending package.

This is not materially different from Josef Mengele. The concept is to deliberately expose people to serious harm so you can gather more data on what you already know will hurt them. It's not some big coincidence the Nuremberg Code expressly prohibits everything resembling this kind of "science."
RFK Jr. appointee Kirk Milhoan has just clearly stated, out loud, that he wants to experiment on the people of the United States by seeing what happens as vaccination coverage plummets and infectious diseases spread.

This must be weird news to see if you’re one of the literally hundreds or even thousands of university administrators who preemptively censored faculty, scrubbed websites, changed the names of centers, etc.

National media should really be covering the fact thay every major school, museum, and arts institution in the Twin Cities, and hundreds of local businesses are closed tomorrow to protest federal occupation.

Nothing like this at this scale has happened anywhere in America anytime in living memory.

everyone out there knows the simple truth of the who is out they're and the why they are out there;

as the lies of this administration begin to describe people who can see the truth of one another plainly, they come to realize the lies they've been told about one another, all along.
Vance in MN: "It's really cold outside. We in the Trump administration want to deport criminal aliens who are sex offenders. It takes a certain level of committed to sex offender criminal aliens to stand outside in -40 temperatures and attack the vice president, but they're committed to the bit."

Congress passed the Taft-Hartley Act in 1947 (over Truman's veto) to make general strikes so incredibly difficult to organize that there hasn't been one since.

That there is a general strike happening in a major US city on such short notice is nothing short of a miracle.

taking inspiration from breakfast cereals to make a new Persona game that stays crispy, even in milk 😌
The author of the novels that inspired Shin Megami Tensei and Persona says developers should take more inspiration from other media to invent new gameplay systems.

If they only take inspiration from games they'll just make the same games, he says.

you should ask your employer right now what their policies are if you miss work or are late due to an interaction with ICE, ESPECIALLY if that interaction does not result in an arrest.

As over 1000 businesses in the Twin Cities close with workers out on strike today in defiance of ICE and Trump, we recall the 1934 general strike in Minneapolis.

Police murdered two people. The governor declared martial law.

But the strikers still won their demands.

It's -20 in Minneapolis and organizers are in the streets before dawn getting ready for actions related to the general strike. They've had locals training out-of-town volunteers on how to prepare for and endure the cold. AND IT IS WORKING. THE STRIKE IS HAPPENING. THE CITY IS DOING THE DAMN THING...

we really dragged those women's names out, paraded them around, stomped on their stories, exposed them to more hate, more public scrutiny, allowed men the world over to laugh at their pain, but at least we accomplished nothing and didn't hold a single person accountable at any point. great job team

What can you do to resist the authoritarian violence of ICE?

A thread.

First—if you can, come to Minneapolis. Bring a crew of two or more so you can act independently as you support local organizing. Bring a phone with service and a car with all-wheel drive.

If every Democrat voted NO on funding ICE, it would not have passed the House. But, 7 House Democrats voted to fund Trump's lawless, masked goons, so it passed.

Hakeem Jeffries refused to whip his members to vote against ICE funding. Genuinely unforgivable.
NEW: DHS appropriations bill funding ICE passes 220-207

7 Democrats voted YES on the bill:
- Jared Golden
- Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
- Henry Cuellar
- Tom Suozzi
- Laura Gillen
- Don Davis
- Vicente Gonzalez

One Republican voted NO: Thomas Massie
