Treasury Red Book contains a “scorecard” that shows all the changes in tax and spending in the Budget. It shows a huge spike in tax in 2029-30 (+£23b) and very few spending boosts that year too (+£2.6b). Without additional growth, that’s a huge hangover in an election year!
