Most needed item is the bed, followed by coat, boots, hat, gloves and snow pants. Gifts start at under $10 and she will appreciate anything she gets, especially books and otter themed anything.
Please help my niece (age 9) have something for Christmas. The SNAP cuts have tapped out what funds my sister and I would normally have used for gifts www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/...

Tonight's adventure in cooking. Cubed up some leftover pork roast I had frozen and cooking it down with some canned German potato salad. Going to cook off some of the fluid until it starts to show a little browning.

Be yourself.
Be helpful if you can.
Be insufferable if you have to.
Be as dark as you wish.
Be the reason a forest is considered haunted.
But most of all, be kind and stay weird.

He's claiming roughly 10% of the US population is undocumented?

Fuuuuuck all the way off.
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

I cannot get my head around this headline. "A vulnerable 17 year old became the victim of a predator" is more accurate. The current formulation seeks to absolve (in part) Gaetz.
A teenager in Florida with a homeless parent wanted money for braces and ended up having sex for money with powerful men, setting off a chain of events that would have a dramatic impact on her life and help upend the political career of Representative Matt Gaetz. nyti.ms/49PSkL9

ProTip: re scientific method
⬇️⬇️⬇️
You can disagree and argue as much as you like but the point of evaluating something scientifically is that not every statement should be given equal credence because evidence matters
JD Vance: "Science as practiced in its best form is that if you disagree with it, then you ought to criticize it and you ought to argue against it."

We absolutely need universal basic income as a secure floor below which no one can fall and everyone can build from. It should not be normalized for people to seek 2nd, 3rd, and 4th jobs in order to make enough money to survive or have a backup plan in case of unexpected job and income loss.
One feature of the collapse we are living through is that things poorer people have had to do are creeping up the income scale

They can spin it however but struggling to make ends meet with a hodge podge of sortof-jobs is both very normal and very bad

Can we circle back to the part where the NY Times never disclosed that they have incriminating information on Donald Trump from sent by Epstein that's been sitting on their email servers for nearly a decade?
Stuff like this makes me wonder why there hasn't been any reporting about Trump having affairs during his presidencies

The tragedy is compounded when you consider that his enablers and influencers told everyone exactly what to expect in Project 2025.

There's really no reason to be taken aback by the implementation of that blueprint.

I get the politics of issuing Scottish bonds, but not convinced by the economics

Issuing ‘kilts’ will not unlock any new funding, but it may well make borrowing more expensive

In other words: it could mean less investment, not more 🧵 www.heraldscotland.com/news/2561868...

Thanks to a group of pathetic Democrats, the pain, suffering, food insecurity, inability to pay rent/mortgage, travel madness, etc is all for nothing.

Many people just can’t recover from a month+ of no pay.

Those ripple effects will last a long time, especially for the poorest of the poor.
