unless you’ve had unfortunate reason to research the subject, i can almost promise you: however much child abuse you think is happening within any community, the reality is way more.
A lot of people are rightfully outraged that famous, important people continued to hang out with Jeff Epstein after he was convicted of serious sex crimes. I would posit, though, that 'maintaining social and business relationships with sex criminals' is extremely common behavior, regardless of class

Moulton: This is state-sponsored terror. This is what you would expect to see in North Korea or Iran or the old Soviet Union. We’ve got to crack down on the government before they crack down on the American people.

Can't believe the guy who led us from record low layoffs to record high layoffs looks poised to do the similar again.
Host: Weekly jobless claims rising unexpectedly to 231,000. Challenger layoffs, a challenging number here, 108,000. That was the worst January since 2009.

I could watch Sir Ian read a newspaper. But watching him do this. ❤️❤️❤️
Absolute chills
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

The problem of ICE/CBP reform is we have a monster rampaging through our democracy and are trying to restrict *which* cities it can pillage and *how many* civilians it can eat. The problem isn’t the restrictions on the monster; the problem is the monster. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/six-ways-t...

News outlets, all of them, failed to actually report Trump's agenda & are now reporting how ignorant people where of his intentions. We keep hearing we didn't know & we didn't vote for this. Yet, it was not a secret.
Where are all the articles on how media all failed to do their basic job?
“For Enrique and Maria Elena, it resembled a long, slow-motion goodbye…
“He said he would go after criminals, and we don’t consider ourselves criminals,” Maria Elena said of the president, adding, “We consider ourselves working people. It turns out, for him, we’re all criminals.”

I know this seems like a really trivial detail to get stuck on but this degree of escalation of force combined with zero warning is something I've never seen. For that to get unleashed on normies just moving along in broad daylight? Christ.

Guys, this is my rep. I blame him for his complicitness and silence.
Another GOP retirement from the House: Georgia Rep. Barry Loudermilk.

#GA11, in the NW Atlanta suburbs & exurbs, went 61-38 for Trump in 2024, per our calculations.
Republican Barry Loudermilk won’t seek reelection
The Georgia Republican said he plans to “spend more dedicated time with my family.”

Researching some of opposing counsel's other cases today and I came across an oral argument transcript from August where he repeatedly called his OC "Ms. Ding-a-Ling", called her a "little coccalah" and told her she had an "ugly hairdo" and should get a different one.

I mean, no shit. Growing sense? It's been obvious my whole life.
And it's not just the ubber wealthy, it's every very wealthy family in ever small community across the US.The rich have always gotten away with crime.
Also, White collar crime disproportionately does more harm than grand theft, etc..
What should alarm us about the Epstein files isn’t just the appalling details, which are horrific and criminal.

It’s that here is a growing sense that there is small number of elite who see themselves as above the law.
