Crashes aren’t accidents—they’re the predictable result of streets designed to forgive high-speed driving, even if that means putting people in harm’s way.

Take, for example, this area of Portage Avenue in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Driving in the summer is fine, but what do you do in the winter? 😂
Cars might work fine in California or Florida, but they’re not practical here in Canada. We have winter.

The goal of good infrastructure is freedom from fear. At 6 months pregnant, my wife can ride because this physically separated path eliminates the threat of motorists.

This is what women in advocacy fight for, not just paint, but genuinely safe, forgiving spaces that enable true mobility choice.

I may have solved the municipal speed cameras issue. We can pull the speed cameras and instead install speed regulators in all vehicles. It slows down our streets without 'punishing' drivers with a so-called cash grab.

Mamdani: "What we have built in this city is also an indication of what politics can be. After the November election, we heard that young people were leaving the Democratic Party, they were getting disinterested in politics.
