Beyond proud of the thousands of students exercising their rights today. And thank you to their teachers for reminding them of their right to protest, right to stay in class working if they choose, and right to freedom of speech.

It’s really difficult & disorienting but the feds hit LA extremely hard today. There were kidnappings all over & reported cluster raids in Chinatown, East LA, Ktown. This list shows to 1130 AM but they haven’t stopped all day

Just because the media attention stopped doesn’t mean the abductions have

I know all eyes are on Minneapolis, but there's a fast-approaching nightmare in Springfield, Ohio.

Trump is revoking protected status for tens of thousands of Haitians living there on Feb. 3.

Reportedly, on Feb. 4, 1000 ICE agents are arriving to remove this population. Ethnic cleansing.

What is obvious to me is that a lot of people deeply care about their neighbors and this country.

They didn't think we would. We do.

We've raised a lot of money for my school community neighbors.

And I predict all of it will be depleted by the end of this week.

If you're in a position to donate, please help: paypal.me/lyndalepto

We cannot normalize this federal occupation of Minneapolis.

It is not normal to watch people abducted in front of our eyes—dragged from car windows, pulled from their homes, and children left without parents.

This is not about immigration. It’s about unchecked cruelty.

In December, I traveled to Montgomery to visit the Legacy Museum, which traces the story of Black America from slavery to Jim Crow to mass incarceration. I wanted to understand how the museum & its affiliated sites were operating in a moment where so much of the history they present is under attack.

I’m a home grown Lions fan but let’s do this for Caleb Williams’ nail polish and every kid that does not “fit” the societal expectations of what an athlete should look like or act like.

People who were actually enslaved believed that chattel slavery would end one day.

I'm sorry but to me that suggests that you [who are not enslaved in 2026] can also imagine an end to the current horrors.

We are in fact DESPERATE for winter coats, waterproof gloves, and good boots. We get so many wonderful donations but it is so cold and the numbers of unhoused unsheltered people are going up at the absolute worst time for it, and we run out of coats weekly.
The frigid Twin Cities temperatures will hurt the homeless; so do not gloat about the impact on ICE without also stepping up here:

Just want to share 2 things from this week’s teaching: younger teens (ninth) don’t use AI as much as it’s being reported. In fact they are very sus about it ALL. And. Juniors do not think much of the U.S. justice system. Especially in regards to treating youth as adults in prison. Both are hopeful.

I teach bystander intervention for a living and have taught de-escalation to law enforcement.

Trust me when I say that bottle girls, gas station clerks, strippers, front desk employees at hotels and airports, baristas, etc. have better de-escalation skills than any cop I've ever seen.
