Anyone who’s ever used emergency contraception or gains peace of mind by even having it on hand owes Dr Camp a debt of gratitude. What a force.

(Also, I just learned one reason the FDA rejected it at first was that they said the name Plan B was too glib!)

Great obit—no paywall.

The rest of the world doesn’t think Trump is making America great, and we’re paying the price.

📌 Fewer travelers are coming to the U.S.

Can’t imagine why.
Masked ICE agents, mass shootings, a president who slaps tariffs on Canada, lying that it’s about fentanyl when it’s really about control.

If you’re the party of “government works,” it matters that you keep sight of the question “for whom?”

And that is something Dems have consistently tried to find a middle ground on between the big money and the base. And that middle does not exist nor should it be pursued

Medicaid isn’t some handout.
It’s how your grandma gets dialysis.
How your neighbor’s autistic kid speaks their first word.
It’s the reason a single mom with breast cancer can keep the lights on.

But sure, tell me more about “personal responsibility.”

Most of the internet used to be like this. This is actually the default, it took companies enclosing the internet and adding weird, soul-killing incentives to make people behave the way they do now. In a way, there is truly nothing special about Wikipedia except that it survived longer.
“Wikipedia is this economic anomaly. In many ways, it’s sort of magical that people will just volunteer without explicit economic incentives to create artifacts that are meant to share knowledge with everyone in the world”

Democrats: What do we need to do to win back disillusioned voters?

Voters: Stand up to Trump and fight him like our lives depend on it.

Democrats: Alienate our base while we chase bros who will never vote for us. Got it.

Voters: That's not-

Democrats: Can you give us five dollars right now?

"Grocerybro" isn't about the cost of groceries versus takeout.

It's about shaming (White) men into pushing unpaid and underpaid labor onto others more vulnerable than they are. So they can focus on doing more profitable labor--growing their investments and their employers' profits, instead. 1/🧵
in case you were wondering, this is what's going on at the other website. if you buy ingredients and prepare them at home, you're apparently a "grocerybro"
