I'm a newly self-diagnosed at 62 autistic person and I'm just trying to connect… thanks for being here! My daughter and I started a conversation about her (NT) being parented by me when I didn't know I was ND. We are learning a lot. Would love to know everybody else's experiences too. ~L

I think group dream work is one of the most valuable methods of building community, identifying your central task and resisting the lures of of our cultural pathologies:

Here is what I know, from listening to hundreds of thousands of dreams from the wider community

This propaganda...was capable of almost anything. It could produce the events it fed on... it could also worm its way deep into the innermost spheres of the people to whom it was directed..

Many people are only familiar with “dissociation” as what they might call a “catatonic state” but is a

“disconnection between a person's thoughts, feelings, memories, and sense of self”

Daydreaming and Hyperfocus are literally forms of dissociation.

Very good pain scale for those living with chronic pain conditions. (I live with anywhere from level 5 to level 9 pain, depending on the day, with my usual pain being a level 7.)
A friend shared this on Facebook earlier, after which, I shared it in our Disability Justice (Un)Learning Signal group, & after a fellow brown spoonie expressed appreciation for it, I got to thinking that my Bluesky followers may benefit. Here is the original post! 👀

So #actuallyautistic friends, how do we feel about this article? I feel like they're talking about mostly Neurotypical people but I wonder how any of these arguments apply if autism is in the room.

Why aren't we talking about the real reason male college enrollment is dropping?
We would rather talk about literally everything else.

Show up for our deaf friends, please.
There are a million reasons to call our reps right now, but when I called Padilla's office the staffer I spoke to had no idea that some Deaf federal employees have lost access to ASL interpretation, and that the White House has stopped providing ASL. If you're able, please mention this to your reps!

I don't know who specifically Steve is referring to, but in my experience, this describes 90% of allistics. (Allistic = non-autistic.)

I'm generally friendly, nice, and welcoming. Overwhelmingly, people are raging assholes in return. I'll never understand neurotypical xenophobia. #ActuallyAutistic
