Intro post:
My day job is helping people and companies make the best use of the internet. I create and support theatre, spend a lot of time in cinemas, love Terry Pratchett (GNU), and have a tendency to waffle.

I had 15 minutes of fame back on the bird site:

Social media v the News of The World
Twitter users have mounted an extremely effective campaign to dissuade advertisers from using the News of the World.

Thank you very much to everyone who donated to my Movember efforts! Love you all.

I admire the persistence and focus of everyone still fighting for the Epstein files, but please realise that a huge number of people can and will manage to hold more than one concept in their heads so shouldn't be told to not talk about war crimes and an imminent invasion/incursion/whatever.

Australia just recorded zero cervical cancer cases in women under 25 for the first time since records began in 1982. The amazing result of HPV vaccination.

For everyone who is going through stuff at the moment, no matter how big or small, isolated or compound, please have a big virtual *squish* if you like that sort of thing.

Having lived in Sheffield for more than 30 years I thought that the intensity of local football rivalry was something understandable. However today I was told that police horse shit was a bigger problem in Hillsborough than at Bramhall Lane (and this was a council problem not an SYP one). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To paraphrase Philadelphia (1993) "What do you call 450,000 fewer children are in poverty by 2029-30?", "A slow and unambitious start"

Why yes, right wing shite-rags, working people are paying for the social safety net. That is rather the point.

And you know the right in the UK want to gut protections in the same way to enable their funders to make more profit.
Exclusive: Republicans plan to challenge vehicle-safety mandates, such as automatic emergency braking and alarms that remind drivers a child is in the back seat.
Senate Committee to Challenge Auto-Safety Mandates That Hurt ‘Affordability’
Republicans are questioning the value of some features, such as automatic braking and rear-seat reminders.

Inciting violence isn't inciting violence if your target is trans.

Trans people are not protected by law in this country.

When you are in one of those friendships where you are often sending unhinged amount of memes and other internet ephemera throughout the day there comes a time when you are in the zone and almost DM someone there own Instagram post.

Interesting watching how heated some people are getting over what is and isn't a casserole.
I mean, it isn't like it is something really important like if stew with a pastry hat is a pie or what you call bread baked to an individual size.

I am so angry at the all-too-believable levels of racism in the justice system, media, and politics right now.

Mobile game recommendations please.
Only had and fast rules are no pvp and no social play (guilds where you don't have to talk to anyone but just have to do some daily grind okay).
Puzzles, casual rpg or tech trees (I don't play games because I want more spreadsheets and flow charts in my life).

I don't think I can do this, films shot around and about. Loads staring people that lived there, but none set in my home town.

The "why is <generation /> better at computers than <other generation />" discorse is going around again. I can be exceptionally reductionist at times but this one really irks me. Not just the very broad brush for millions of people but forgetting the shoulders upon shoulders being stood on.
