In an era where support for trans rights and LGBTQ+ in general was more tepid and understated, because people were afraid to upset bigots, GDQ decided they were going to be loudly, unapologetically inclusive. The result is one of the greatest communities in video games.
The extent to which Games Done Quick has helped to steer the larger speedrunning community - one of the most hardcore video game enthusiast subcultures there is - into becoming something so welcoming, inclusive and supportive astonishes me

If you're at all into turn based RPGs and you haven't played it yet, you really owe it to yourself to check this one out.

Every time a journalist cites chatGPT as having "said" or "recommended" something, it would be far more accurate and less obfuscatory to say that Sam Altman said/recommended it.

At long last the Depressing Backstory Flashback is over. That went on for at least twice as many pages as I planned, but it's an important part of the story so I didn't want to make it feel rushed, either. Hopefully it feels the right length to the reader.
