@helpsheffield.co.uk I'm looking for someone with a Van to help move some furniture to a new house and wondered if anyone had any recommendations?

I'm only going one street over so only really need someone for an hour, at most 2 trips.

It warms my heart that Sheffield has a Laurel and Hardy society.

Even taking into account Americanisms it’s weird to see the @nytimes.com crossword get a spelling wrong. According to the company (and society) the plural of Lego is in fact ‘Lego’.

A 1% tax hike on assets worth more than £4m would raise an extra £25bn a year for the treasury.

Just a thought.

Good time at Chillcon today. Not very often a wargaming convention comes to my own postcode!

I feel being able to stream Final Fantasy XIV over Xbox Live doesn’t get enough positive press. Having to download constant updates is the bane of any MMO. Here they got rid of the whole need for it.

Street artist and Hallam alumni Peachzz is up for a Best Mural of the World award! 🎉

She has been nominated for her biggest mural so far, Reverie, which is inspired by Sheffield's canals.

Of Mice and Men shouldn’t be dropped due to cultural reasons. But it should be dropped because it’s been on the syllabus for over 30 years!

There are hundreds of other classic novels they could include, from Jules Verne to Ursula Le Guin.
Would you drop Of Mice and Men from the exam syllabus? The answer isn’t black and white | Nels Abbey
The book will no longer be studied at GCSE in Wales because many find the racial slurs upsetting. That’s culture war fodder, but it shouldn’t be, says author and broadcaster Nels Abbey

Sonic 3 was good fun. Quite nice to be in a cinema full of children laughing at all the dad jokes. It’s easy to forget who these movies are aimed at.
