The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

there's one neurosurgeon in korea who singlehandedly keeps a specific kind of macro art alive with commissions money but honestly neurosurgeons are more in the category of "queer rich", like exactly rich enough you could get into politics if you really wanted and no more
This fandom has a reputation for being "suspiciously wealthy" but the truth is most furries just love and value art and people so much that they want to use their money for art and supporting artists so they can make a living doing what they love. It's a cycle of genuine passion I think.
