ICE has grabbed so many people from their vehicles that there are abandoned cars across Minnesota.

This tow truck driver returns the cars for free as a public service, and he’s been getting death threats.

They hate the helpers.

Which is why must keep helping.
Twin Cities tow truck driver returns abandoned vehicles to families after ICE arrests
Juan Leon sends a "chase" car to check out where abandoned vehicles are located and arranges discreet drop-offs. Since late December, he estimated they have dropped off 250 cars.

It bums me out that there isn't more Paleolithic rock art of cave hyenas, especially considering they were all over the place. So I made some myself.

people are working themselves up in a frenzy, convinced they're utterly helpless without software younger than still-fresh canned tuna. we have been making art for at least 50,000 years, get a grip

I love some classic SFF, can't stand a lot of it, and my general advice is to read whatever moves you.

Testing your boundaries is great for personal growth. Forcing it never helps anybody.
Anyone who wants to rec me a classic SFF author owes me a full background check of the person plus a 500 word essay about why their work is worth reading TODAY at this point.

Yet another excellent pig!

(but where is it from...?)
i think we all need to step back and realize that peak art was made when neolithic pot in the shape of a pig was fired

Scotland has passed a law that all new buildings must install ‘swift bricks’ which are hollowed out bricks to help nesting swifts and other endangered birds! Swifts are especially endangered because so many chimneys now have chimney caps. Swifts return to the same nesting spot year after year.

The "shadow network" of people standing on street corners with big yellow vests and whistles. "How'd you find that shadow network?" "Oh, he had a big 'Fuck ICE' sign and was handing out whistles with a phone number on them."

Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead

I got in SO MUCH trouble for this hugely viral tweet back in 2018 (from MAGA types mostly) but I stand by it (and in fact at the time the Auschwitz Museum defended me when people yelled at me that Auschwitz was a “death camp” not a concentration camp). My DENTIST congratulated me for this one

“Did they grow up under a rock??”

Yes. And the rock was probably put there on purpose by men who wanted uneducated people to control.

This is why we don’t leave any state or county or town behind. Nobody deserves to grow up under a rock. Especially one they would never have the power to move.

The commonsense reform to concentration camps is not having them.
Democrats want commonsense reform for ICE:

End the roving patrols and racial profiling.

Take accountability and abide by the same rules as local police.

Masks need to come off, body cameras need to stay on—no secret police in the United States of America.

My dad, a lifelong conservative and 2nd amendment advocate who is now safely dead from natural causes, hammered these rules into me my entire life. ICE are a disgrace to themselves and their own shitty, shitty cause and should be disbanded, prosecuted, and jailed
Three rules in FBI firearm training:

1. Always point your weapon downrange
2. Do not point your weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot
3. Don’t put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot

Guns are not for threatening compliance for unarmed people doing things you don’t like
happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.

A small study found that exposure to lead—a dangerous heavy metal—has fallen by a factor of more than 100 since the 1960s.

However, the researchers warn that all the gains in lead exposure could be reversed if pollution policies change. bit.ly/4ryhLH2

Evergreen and for the whole country.

If this ends before they get to your town, you’ll have some meals prepped and you will have made some friends. You cannot lose.
If your town is relatively free of them for now, seize the opportunity to put some meals in the freezer and build your networks.
