I am gonna go out on a limb and say that a Jersey dude so horrified that he went to his first protest and is trying not to cry on camera has a pretty good chance of staying radicalized. And that while Bluesky loves to pick apart things like this, this kinda video moves the needle for OTHER dudes.
Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social

hello and welcome to the political genius exam. here is question one. which is a more compelling message:

- the president is sending armies to occupy cities and kidnap and kill people and your town could be next
- a meal at the cheesecake factory that previously cost $100 now costs $104.9
Romance alert: Trump's reckless tariffs have Valentine’s Day costs up across the board:

Roses 🌹16.6%
Chocolates🍫 18.7%
Ribeye 🥩 25.4%
Restaurant meals 🍽️ 4.9%

"The company has informed some users in the UK they may be part of "an experiment" with Persona, an age verification vendor whose investors include Peter Thiel, co-founder of ICE's premier surveillance provider, Palantir."

Cool cool cool coolcool
"Impossibly, despite its attempts to pacify the ensuing outcry by issuing a clarification that merely some users will be required to submit to its child detection matrix, Discord has managed to make the rollout of its global age assurance policy seem even grimier."
Oh, good: Discord's age verification rollout has ties to Palantir co-founder and panopticon architect Peter Thiel
Discord is "experimenting" with an age authentication vendor whose major investors include Thiel's Founders Fund.

20+ hrs after the Trump admin was supposed to disburse $200M withheld from the Hudson River tunnel project, “there is no sign of a wire transfer of any money,” the NJ and NY AGs say in a new filing, requesting an emergency status conference this afternoon

It's not a new observation at this point but that wild Noem/Lewandowski story in WSJ really brings home the extent to which all the Trump 2 cabinet-level goblins see their jobs as flying private, doing short-form video, and screaming at underlings. They all hate each other and none of them can read.

- herpes simplex virus causes cold sores, genital herpes, infections in babies, deadly meningitis

15k per month in 2025 vs 130k in january doesnt pass the smell test at all
January non-farm payrolls +130k vs +65k exp/+50k prev
2m net revision -17k
Unemployment rate 4.3% vs 4.4% exp/prev
Avg hourly earnings +0.4% MoM vs +0.3% exp/prev
January Employment Situation Report due at 8:30 ET. Economists expect +65k NFP; I see some downside risk to that. On the unemployment side, rate expected stable at 4.4%; I also see downside risk there given recent continuing claims data. We'll also get the final benchmark revision for March '25.

They're building concentration camps with my tax money Chuck. They're torturing children. They're murdering innocent people on the street. What are you doing.
Our DHS reform demands are exceedingly reasonable.

We're asking ICE to do nothing more than follow the standards that the vast majority of law enforcement agencies already follow.

Republicans, the ball is in your court. The clock is ticking.

A Speaker of the House who bills himself as a "constitutional lawyer" is answering a basic questions about the Fourth Amendment's warrant requirement by chuckling and saying that Republicans would "never go along" with it
Mike Johnson Is Very Annoyed By the Fourth Amendment’s Existence
For a constitutional lawyer, the House Speaker sounds alarmingly unfamiliar with how the Fourth Amendment’s warrant requirement works.

Jeffrey Epstein died on August 10th. In the Epstein files, there is what appears to be a draft DOJ press release announcing his death that is dated August 9th.

(It’s here: www.justice.gov/epstein/file...)
The release on Saturday, August 10th appears to have two differences. The date, and the addition of “of an apparent suicide” www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr...
