"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

i’ve said this before and i remain convinced it’s true, the 2028 platform that would deliver obama 08 results is “i am gonna
bring the hammer down on the corrupt self-dealing politicians and their rich friends and there are no sacred cows id give a pass”

spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"

The World According To Garp. Brilliant and fucked up and weirdly hopeful. Super-cynical in that late 70s way, but also very tender and human.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Last night’s vote was yet another “Fuck it, guess we’re on our own” moment served up by Senate Democrats.

Some of you may be surrounded by like-minded individuals. Many of us are not. And when our more cynical right-leaning friends say, “Well, they’re all the same,” what can we say back now?

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

If you give in--AGAIN--without securing anything more than an empty promise, do not expect a single dollar or vote from me as long as you live, cowards.

Regular reminder that Axios stories saying Dems are about to cave are likely sourced from GOP staffers trying to make it happen.
Doesn't mean it definitely won't happen. But it's like those NYT stories that Harvard is considering caving (they haven't). The anonymous source was trying to manifest it.

I’m almost 50 years old, and this is the first time I can remember the right leaning hard into everyone’s worst instincts—transphobia in VA, and just gutter racism in NY—and losing.

And not only losing, but getting smoked.

That, in and of itself, is worth smiling over.
