Note that there are two Atlas locations in SE — for #transpoBINGO tonight, you want the Bridge District location on Howard Rd SE, *not* the Navy Yard location on Half Street.

They sure haven't* made it to the nearest bike lanes to Banneker Rec...

(* Or, hadn't as of this morning…)

#TranspoBINGO 16:
ordinarily, second Wednesdays are for the ANC 1B Transportation Committee www.anc1b.org/tpps-committ...

…but this month it's on Thursday, so instead I visited @anc1a.bsky.social's Transportation Committee. 🤷

#TranspoBINGO 15:
thought for a while about where to put Tuesday. We tried to go to karaoke at the Crown&Crow, but it didn't seem to be happening, so we didn't make any art and it wasn't super whimsy-cal.

This net of lights also looked a lot more starry-night in person, but i'm going with it…

(I thought about saying I played tourist with a new line on the way home from pub roll, but…I have no night vision, so while I did ride the new-to-me C63 from CUA to CH I couldn't see a damn thing.…)

Monday morning as you may have already read i ran into @wvistheduck.bsky.social at the bus stop and checked my "celeb on #transpoBINGO" square...

Then, at lunch, I walked by the (surprisingly dead) ice rink outside the Silver Spring Civic Center. What could be more Winter Water than a sheet of it?

#TranspoBINGO Ever wonder what's with this weird little extra lane that's sort-of-but-not-really part of 16th St sort-of-maybe-could-be an odd grafted-on extension of Mt Pleasant St?

Old streetcar right-of-way! The Mt Pleasant streetcars used to run here (both directions! 🙀) btwn Columbia & MtP St.

After that I figured, well, I'm at one end of the Yellow Line, so I might as well go to the other end....

This being a Green Line trackwork weekend, that line was cut short at Mt Vernon Square and it was the Yellow running all trips out to Greenbelt....

As I crossed away from the station, I got to thank the transpo hero shoveling out the curb ramp on the other side, one of the only ones I saw all day.

Then I had a wander around Huntington Station, which tbh was rather unpleasant to walk for somewhere so close to the Metro station. But I got doner.
February 12, 2026 at 7:37 AM
…I went out to Huntington hoping to use the new-to-me mode of _Inclined Elevator_ — that's right, Huntington has WMATA's only elevator that moves at an angle, one of just a few _anywhere_ in N.America.

Unfortunately, and perhaps unsurprisingly for such a rare beast, it didn't seem to be working.

Sunday I unfortunately missed the LWVDC game but still knocked out a bunch of #TranspoBINGO squares:
- I wandered over to Clarendon and finally grabbed a non-WMATA transit: the ART 42 to Pentagon City!
- I played tourist some more on a rare (for me) trip to Alexandria and beyond
February 12, 2026 at 7:37 AM
Saturday evening we transpo'ed our way to Eastern Market and visited Labyrinth and East City Books and got dinner.

And then of course our #TranspoBINGO ride home involved a Transfer…. Fortunately transferring on Metrorail doesn't (usually) feel like rolling the dice these days.

if you haven't opened the CaBi app recently, you might not have seen they have their own year-in-review doohickey.

Saturday I checked mine to Track My #TranspoBINGO Impact ...and then took the train. 🥶

Actually surprised I hit 121 Bikeshare stations last year, I mostly use the same 3-4…
February 12, 2026 at 7:37 AM
- I almost got a "non-WMATA transit" square Thursday evening, but settled for the Red Line to #TranspoBINGO to Group Play as the relevant RideOn runs so infrequently it would've taken three times as long.

- And then ofc #MBTPubRoll crossed quadrants to Metrobar.

belated #transpobingo thread incoming...

Got the top center and corners Thursday:
- took the bus to work in Silver Spring. As @wvistheduck.bsky.social and others have mentioned, Silver Spring is a Better Bus Jackpot with the C87, D40/X, D60/X, P30, and a bunch of M routes I've actually never used….

#MBTpubroll is joining forces once again with #TranspoBINGO tomorrow to cap off the week! In light of icy conditions, we're going to start at 5:30pm at Solace in Navy Yard and then have a nice and easy walk, bike, or metro across the Anacostia to the finale social at Atlas in the Bridge District 🚲🚇🍻
Mark your calendars folks, #MBTpubroll is doing TWO pub rolls for #TranspoBINGO this year! We'll end up at Metrobar on Feb 5th, and at Atlas Brew Works in the Bridge District on Feb 12th, exact routes TBD. This is a great way to get several squares on your board. Come one, come all, come pub roll🚲🍻!
We’ve sent the 2026 #TranspoBINGO boards to print! This year’s board is full of fun and whimsy. What better way to enjoy beautiful DC than through play? Join pre-TranspoBINGO events for an advance board or RSVP to get it in your inbox when it goes live.

"2 lines" ? there's all of one station on 14th St…

you could put a Georgia Ave-Pleasant Plains station a little further south & have it be approximately actually on Howard campus, or do it at Harvard/Columbia (and unfuck the Michigan/Columbia interchange) & pretend it's for the Hospital Center too
February 12, 2026 at 5:11 AM
a thought:
- run north fm L'Enfant via 14th. Logan-U corridor needs more/better transit too
- turn east at U, probably below or next to existing station to avoid interline
- run up Georgia
- new infill sta at JB Park/Mont Coll/EW Hwy, then go up Fenton
- NE via Colesville ("The Other Columbia Pike")

According to propertyquest.dc.gov, both sides of Taylor west of John McCormack, including along both ramps, are CUA property.

Inside the ramps appears to be shown as right-of-way, however DGS's Public Lands map dcgis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappv... does not indicate who might be responsible.

i don't know if this theory holds any water, but we've got plenty of that all over our streets right now, so maybe @dcattorneygeneral.bsky.social should give it a shot....
There’s a case to be made that today (Feb. 11) marks the *30th day* of the congressional review period for the D.C. Income and Franchise Tax Conformity and Revision Temporary Amendment Act of 2025, which means it becomes law effective Feb. 12 (regardless of how the Senate votes)
The Senate voted 51-46 this evening to proceed to a final vote on H.J. Res. 142 tomorrow, so it looks like the Senate is on track to pass this disapproval resolution, sending it to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law later this month.

What a travesty.

the local personal liberties op-ed section has written recently about tax policy in California and Massachusetts, but to this point has nothing to say about Congress fucking over DC tax filing and budget
