My new favorite pet peeve is when people respond to my outrage and fear over AI slowly destroying my livelihood with “Oh that’s terrible. I only use it for ______.”

If you can’t figure out how to write a polite email all on your own then STFU, Karen.
I’m mad at anyone who made me aware of that gross RFK and KR video, much less made me SEE it. A pox on your whole household.

Conversion therapy, honey. I looked at for five seconds and wanted a wife, 2.5 kids and a golden retriever.
Kid Rock and RFK showing up shirtless in a video together temporarily destroyed any trace of homosexuality in my body.

I regularly see people wondering how it's possible that there are so many musicians and writers and film makers and artists from a tiny nation like Iceland.

And the answer is really simple: State funding for art education and artists. I literally get a salary from the government to write books.
I’m constantly astounded at the sheer level of artistic production coming out of Iceland. Novels, movies, music. Amazing.

Chris Wright on seized Venezuelan oil: "We've sold about $1 billion of oil so far. We've recently signed agreements to sell about another $5 billion in the next several months. So you're talking well north of $10 billion a year ... this is way out of the box, groundbreaking Trump diplomacy."

I literally saw a post two weeks back in which a guy with two jobs was flagellating himself because he was short on rent, lamenting that had he donated plasma more, maybe his rent would be on time. This system is deeply fucked. Earth is a pleasure cruise for 1000 people and we're all just the staff.
Is this the “golden age” economy we’ve heard so much about?

Ossoff: "Among today's false prophets are the election deniers who indulge this president's obsession with overturning the 2020 election. Hear me when I say this -- they tell a lie so absurd, and therefore so debasing, that the act of telling it proves the teller's total and humiliating submission."

Elon Musk is the world's richest man. But his belief in white supremacy and white replacement theory is shared by some of the poorest Americans. Could he be the class unifying populist that the nation so sorely needs?

it’s breathtaking to see how this country is in decline by every possible metric
Devastated to learn that Univ of Texas at Austin is closing the American Studies dept. The years I spent there earning my PhD were formative, making me the teacher, thinker, and writer I am today. I've passed on what I learned at UT to thousands of students over the past 20 years. Just awful.

CBP didn’t exist until the creation of DHS in 2002 as part of post 9-11 right wing fever dream. It became operational in 2003 and effectively has been a bastion of misconduct and human rights abuses every sense.

Throw the whole thing out and start over.
Criminality is so rampant inside CBP that it has seen one of its own agents or officers arrested every 24 to 36 hours since 2005.
