Shoring up the base.
Bold move by Trump to remind everyone he's a vile racist to distract from his raping children. Let's see how it works out for him.

Man who has repeatedly claimed he’s brought down prescription drug prices down by greater than 1,000% will know when his mental acuity is slipping.
Q: If at any point your age impacts your job, who's going to tell you that?

Trump: I think I'll know myself

one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things

Their depravity has no lower limit.
DHS said that the woman CBP shot in the chest in Portland was “involved” in a gang shooting.

Her ~involvement~ was that suspected gang members sexually assaulted and robbed her.
After Border Patrol shot two people in Portland, DHS claimed they were "vicious gang members" tied to a past shooting.

But records I obtained reveal a US prosecutor has since directly contradicted DHS, saying, "We're not suggesting he is a gang member." My dive into how DHS' claims have collapsed:

Bookmark this for when Dems do the same for the U.S. Supreme Court.
The Utah governor just signed a bill to expand his state's supreme court by two seats.

Conservatives have been angry at a series of judicial rulings, including one that safeguarded direct democracy in 2024 & one that struck down their gerrymander. 1st step of their retaliation.

Hungary’s elections aren’t really free and fair. Orban’s corrupt control of most of the country’s media and courts renders it so.

But the elections are still somewhat competitive, and the most plausible mechanism to get him out of power.

It’s hard, but backsliding can be stopped, even reversed.
For over a year, polls have put Hungary’s opposition party ahead of Viktor Orban’s. But a big lead in the polls is no guarantee of an election victory
Viktor Orban may lose his next election
He trails in polls, but the rules favour Trump’s man in Hungary

It’s not doomerism to say trump, his party, and his government are trying to rig elections including the midterms; that’s just … reality

It is doomerism to act like they are likely to “cancel” the midterms or that their success in rigging it is at all a given
Hey now, I've been informed that such claims are doomerism, and that's something we shouldn't tolerate here.

Besides, everyone knows that the midterms will fix this.

The latest Economist/YouGov poll shows that only 37% of Americans approve of Donald Trump's job performance. But at this Paramount Skydance ownership retreat, that number seems much higher.

Our country was founded on resistance to a tyrant.
Attorney General Pam Bondi: "Our country was founded on law enforcement"
Bondi: "It's extremely organized. The signs they have are all matching, they're well written. And look at what's happening today. How did these people go out & get gas masks? These protesters. Would you know how to walk out on the street and buy a gas mask? Think about that. We're not gonna have it"

One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!
