The threat to court martial Senator Mark Kelly has been reduced to this petty, spiteful act - no doubt because this is what they think they can legally get away with.

Let's hope Kelly legally challenges this "administrative act" - for he did nothing wrong, merely setting out the applicable law.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says Sen. Mark Kelly will face administrative action

The US operation to capture Nicolás Maduro may well be the moment when Western Europe realizes that the US has decisively abandoned the core values that united them for the past century.
The US capture of President Nicolás Maduro – and attacks on Venezuela – have no justification in international law

This makes a lot of sense.

Foreign interventions being used to trigger domestic legal powers.
I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.

It's also such an easy political win.

Point to Musk donating to far right groups like Rupert Lowe's and his previous support for Reform and say they're being funded by a noncebot.
If the British government, and indeed other governments, can’t muster a fast and strong response to Twitter adding a facility enabling users to create and share AI child sexual abuse material then not sure what Musk could ever do that would actually provoke a response.
