160 years ago today, the 13th Amendment was ratified to end slavery, with one major exception: punishment for a crime.

The legacy of slavery lives on as people behind bars are still coerced into working for mere pennies or nothing at all.

It's long overdue to abolish slavery in all its forms.

The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

This sugar cookie dough was supposed to roll out for cut-out cookies for a networking party tomorrow. Clearly, not rolling out. 🫤.

[walks into room where hubby is watching a YouTube video of a guy living in the woods in a tiny house]
Me: are you thinking of living in a tiny house in a forest?
Him: wouldn't you want to live there with me?
Me: our marriage vows didn't include tiny houses, so nope. 😂😂

One nice thing about being sick is I tend to drink more tea. Been enjoying a Lady Grey tea I grabbed on vacation in Charleston several months ago as well as an authentic Indian Chai tea from a shop in Seattle.

Not joking: has one reporter responded to his preposterous Sgt Schultz “I know nothing” schtick by immediately asking:

* Doesn’t this level of ignorance disqualify you as speaker?

* Do you really think we are so dumb to believe you?

* Do you think it is appropriate to insult the voters like this?
RAJU: If defenseless survivors were killed, would that constitute a violation of the laws of war?

MIKE JOHNSON: I'm not going to prejudge any of that. I was pretty busy yesterday. I didn't follow a lot of the news.

Remember—Billionaire philanthropy is PR

$6.25B is a lot of money. It’s also only 4.1% of the $152B Michael Dell has hoarded. If Dell paid the 37% tax rate on the wealthy he'd pay $56.25B—and still have nearly $100B, more than he'd ever need

I can't get over the fact that they scheduled a televised Cabinet meeting, hyped it as a major event, planned it all out to show how active and in control Trump is ... and then he dozed off in the middle of it. Repeatedly.

It's almost snowing here. I say 'almost' because whatever the precipitation is-- it's not rain, but it's not discernable snowflakes either. Icy mist? 🤷. I'm choosing to believe it's snow. Home sick and I love snow, so there. ❄️❄️❄️

Home sick with a cold. Therefore, it's perfectly acceptable to have pumpkin pie for breakfast.

Today is the 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' arrest. Six myths: 1) She wasn't old or tired. 42 years old that day, she had a "life history of being rebellious" & had spent two decades helping to turn the Montgomery NAACP into a more activist branch alongside ED Nixon and Johnnie Carr.

Together these moves amount to an unprecedented rollback of civil rights progress—the largest since Reconstruction.

The cuts + deletions are drawing MORE attention to Black history, says the National Urban League president.

To be clear: The record shows the Tr*mps have alwasy been racists. ALWAYS.
America stares down erasure of Black history and progress
In the last year, federal, state and institutional decisions have gutted pillars of America's civil rights protections.

Black Friday $ sales are higher this year because things are more expensive. So consumers aren’t buying more items, they’re just paying more them.
