Anyone who still thinks Newsom is gonna be the Democratic savior for 2028 needs to read this. Duran is spot on in ripping him to shreds here.
I’ve watched Gavin Newsom’s career for 20+ years. It’s a buffet of big lies & failed hopes

Like Trump, he breaks promises, serves billionaire interests & mistakes social media theatrics for leadership.

Is that what we need in 2028?

Amen! We have definitely been seeing this at my church here in Albuquerque as well. Our ASA went from 158 to 194 just over the last year.
The Sundays after Renee Good and Alex Pretti were murdered we had higher than usual attendance at the Cathedral, particularly considering how freakishly cold it was.

People are craving hope, community and justice and are being forced to be more willing to meet new people. And its been very good!

That was one of the best Super Bowl halftime shows I’ve ever seen. This is a part of the version of America that I want and want to live in! Such joy and passion! No wonder that the joyless MAGA people hate it.

on the balance i think partisan gerrymandering is bad but the only way it ends is if democrats weaponize it against republicans everywhere they can. wiping out republican lawmakers in blue states might bring the GOP to the table to end the practice.

Our president is and always has been a criminal. Openly. Proudly.

Either you support him. Or you oppose him. Openly. Proudly.

I oppose him because I have honor. And he has none.

This is pretty much my take on the situation as well, and why I am deeply pessimistic about the future of the USA.
The Democratic leaders in Congress have repeatedly shown that they have no interest in leading an effective opposition.

They have no appetite for the legislative trench warfare this moment requires. They don't even have the will to speak about it clearly. They just want to be left alone.
We have to get rid of Jeffries and Schumer. We have to. It’s unendurable that these men are the most prominent Democrats of the moment. They are two of the most broadly undistinguished men I could imagine in politics, zero fire, zero fight, zero zeal, machine politicians with sinecures.

100% true.
cold-blooded murder by the state.
Holy shit.

Renee Good was alive when the bystander physician asked to check her pulse. She was alive when ICE refused to let him help. She was alive when they told him “I don’t care.”

A gentle reminder in your grief that Renee Good was out there to protect her Black and brown neighbors from ethnic cleansing. That is still the mission.

The focus should remain on slowing down the ethnic cleansing campaign and on protecting Black and brown families and communities from destruction.

ICE murders again.

And they will murder again in the future.

Abolish ICE.

Very much so.
Some people genuinely should be more afraid of the judgement of the Lord.
ICE detain father shopping on Christmas Eve—then steal his family's groceries.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

I don't think free speech on campus ought to mean that a young coddled bigot gets to use their ignorance to casually destroy the career of a knowledgeable trans person on a random Wednesday
Worth noting that the student admits that she just threw the thing together in 30 minutes without reading the paper she was supposed to be responding to.

It's very important we all go back to Twitter, a website as popular with young people as chlamydia.
Teens turn to a variety of online platforms, but YouTube continues to stand out. Roughly nine-in-ten teens report ever using it. TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat are the next most widely used platforms.
