But the rationale:

USAID was bad because it spent a small amount of money to prevent deaths.

This is good because it spends a lot of money to cause deaths.

This. Been saying this.
I do really wish more reporters would just ask "Speaker Johnson, do you think it’s appropriate for the Speaker of the House—third in line of succession to the presidency—to be so consistently unfamiliar with current events?"
Q: Rep. Jayapal accused the DOJ of tracking her search history. Is that appropriate conduct?

MIKE JOHNSON: I don't know anything about that

Q: Bondi had a piece of paper with Jayapal's search history

JOHNSON: I don't know anything about that but it would be inappropriate if it happened

yep, they're still at it in LA and Portland too

the media is gonna be like "time for a new narrative" and it's so important to keep talking about how none of the cities they invaded have become more safe since the spotlight shifted away from them
ICE “left” Chicago in November, but they’ve disappeared three people from my community in two days this week.

Don’t believe the hype about them, leaving Minnesota, either.

Everyone who did business with Epstein after his conviction in 2008 knew who he was.

Everyone doing business with Musk right now knows who he is.

Monstrous filth, morally repugnant.

Replace "the rich" with "industrialists" or "tech" or "billionaires" if you like.

Framing, I'd say.

Here's another frame that addresses without helping the LLM narrative: we see how excited the rich are to replace labor, hoard society's output, and impoverish all. They haven't succeeded yet, but they will keep trying, and so we should prepare by making this impossible.

Only the cops arrived at their front door. They kicked it, entered & immediately shot Victoria

CNN confirms what MSNBC reported live a few hours ago: DOJ is surveilling Dem lawmakers when they go to the DOJ to search unredacted Epstein files.
CNN: "Another photograph - these are notes AG Bondi brought to the hearing today. This shows a list of Rep. Jayapal's search history. Lawmakers are allowed to go to a DOJ facility to search unredacted files. We learned from this photo that the searches are apparently being tracked & read by the DOJ"

Seems like we may have to open up a big argument about whether Trump is the only president with net job loss in the modern statistical era or the only *two* presidents with net job losses.
so the jobs report flopsweat coming from the WH is at minimum because the annual baseline adjustment is going be brutal.

I would additionally guess that one or both are true:

1) January report very very bad
2) neg baseline adjustment bigger than net job growth for 2025 (almost certain)

Notice how the popular media narrative has moved on, while people on the ground in Minneapolis are still struggling and crying out that things are as bad as ever. This is how fascist regimes operate — overreach, recalibration, normalization. Get louder, not quieter.

One reason Trump loves tariffs is because they enable two of his greatest passions: arbitrarily threatening anyone who makes him feel bad and making up arbitrary numbers.

Why 39? Why not 40? Because he feels smart when he makes up numbers that sound precise.
Trump: "So I put on a 30% tariff, which is very low. I got an emergency call from I believe the prime minister of Switzerland. She was very aggressive ... I didn't really like the way she talked to us, so instead of giving her a reduction, I raised it to 39%."

Our DHS reform demands are exceedingly reasonable.

We're asking ICE to do nothing more than follow the standards that the vast majority of law enforcement agencies already follow.
