It is not our moral responsibility to coddle the delusional fears and bigotries of white supremacists. It is not our moral responsibility to change reality for them so they can hold onto those fears and bigotries.

It is our moral responsibility to make their fears and bigotries THEIR problem.

For those of you reposting this - Jes Staley resigned as CEO and is currently banned from finance in the UK.
This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

This brings me to my own campaign plank: when elected, if ICE and the entire DHS is not already abolished, I will immediately fire and prosecute everyone involved

and then hire new DHS goons to replicate the same abuses on anyone who voted for Trump or opposed abolishing ICE.
Those MAGA that are sentient (20%? 30%? -- need a snap Quinnipiac poll) realize that ICE assaults could be turned on them.
Trumpworld assumed MAGA-adjacent parts of the culture would thrill to ICE brutality. ICE recruits among fans of UFC, Nascar, military tactical equipment.

But even MAGA-friendly constituencies and parts of the culture are now rejecting ICE and mass deportations. 5/

I’m here in Minneapolis and in a few groups responding to the attacks - observing, recording, warning but also getting groceries to people in hiding.

The post below doesn’t ring true to me at all. The volunteers are amazing (most do more than I do), and NOBODY is worried about protestor behavior.
Friends in Minneapolis are very worried about this development. Both in terms of state police's role in arresting protestors and the worry that this could set off the kind of spiral of distrust and destruction that followed George Floyd's murder.

ICE told nurses this Minneapolis man “purposefully ran headfirst into a brick wall.”

What actually happened is that they pulled him from a car, beat him so viciously with a steel baton that he had 8 skull fractures, 5 life-threatening brain hemorrhages, and couldn’t remember he had a daughter.

I hadn’t known this. Two men who were accused of sexual abuse on the Shitty Media Men document that I created back in 2017 reached out to Michael Wolff for help as they looked to sue me, and Wolf forwarded their concerns to Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein offered to help. www.jmail.world/thread/EFTA0...

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
Democratizing the arts looks like universal income, low-barrier grants for both emerging and working artists, well-funded municipal arts & recreation programs, vibrant third spaces, and a well-funded public school system with progressive curriculum.

Not a free pass for corporate-owned slop engines.
Every instance of "AI democratizes the arts, you're classist and ableist and a gatekeeper for trying to stop it" is a slap in the face to the literally centuries of poor, disabled people making art on the margins and a crass lie in service of a machine that strips down and regurgitates dreams

Nice to see this, especially from an org as right-leaning as Cato. Would have been nice to see them pushing this point earlier in the demonization of immigrants over the last couple dozen years.
Important info from @cato.org about how immigrants contribute to our country:

"The US immigrant population generated more in taxes than they received in benefits from all levels of government every year from 1994 to 2023."

Facts matter.
