Breaking MS NOW:

Trump's Justice Department has decided there will be no civil rights investigation of the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti, and instead two units of DHS will investigate their own officers and the man they killed.
No civil rights violation probe into latest MN shooting, sources tell MS NOW
As DHS takes over the federal investigation, current and former law enforcement agents warn that Trump’s DOJ isn’t committed to facts or fairness.

TOM HOMAN: “We’re going to create a database where those people that are arrested for interference, impeding and assault, we’re going to make them famous. We’re going to put their face on TV. We’re going to let their employers, in their neighborhoods, in their schools, know who these people are.”

If Senate Republicans refuse to strip out the DHS bill to put real constraints on ICE — and hold hostage the vast majority of government funding — then Republicans are complicit in the chaos and own the potential government shutdown.

It’s time to stop ICE’s violence.

There's apparently body cam footage of Alex's murder. Do people know this?

This lets you know that a demand for body cams is USELESS and in fact just a way to give more money to the killers.

Also, the primary purpose of law enforcement body cams, functionally speaking, will always be the surveillance and criminalization of members of the public, not law enforcement themselves. Extraordinary exceptions confuse people about this.

It's not quite the most pressing issue at the moment, but the American people absolutely have a right to know the names of the federal officials who shot and killed a man peacefully protesting, who was on his knees, prone in the street when they shot him in the back.

It is inconceivable to me that any Democrat would vote for a DHS funding bill that fails to include a mandate that requires these federal goons to take their masks off.

Now he's giving all of Greenland access to his music for free as an additional fuck you.

Well done, sir.

Felon is giving 'lip service' in MN, firing & moving his thugs around to try to quiet the backlash.

Hopefully for MN, chaos is relatively ⬇️. Massive kudos to them for their efforts

"Our response to the [Felon's TACO dance] must be to increase the pressure on Trump & the Senate"

Do not back down.

Overall, Minnesota union density is about 16%, while the national number is just below 10%. Unions matter.

And Enterprise is renting the cars that ICE uses in their raids.

I think one aspect of the importance of communication, trackers, & observers with cameras on the ground is that ICE/CBP haven't been able to do the 'fake black bloc' thing and throw Molotov cocktails through windows to create the illusion of violent protest.

Yes, I think they absolutely do that.

This is a minor point perhaps, but it adds to the heartbreak.

The Univ of Minnesota is where I became a geographer and where I first became interested in migration studies.

You'd be surprised how many people involved in justice work are human geographers.
