This matches a lot with my thinking as I began writing Murder by Memory and the other Dorothy Gentleman novellas. Who we are depends on what we can remember, and memory storage/transfer is a way of making that both more permanent and more fragile in narratively telling ways.

Once you finally begin to recognize us first and foremost as women, this is really all you need to understand about us.
This understanding of why, precisely, the global reactionary wave is so fixated on trans people and trans womanhood particularly, is incredibly lacking amongst even many feminist commentators. Trans women are being made the face of a worldwide right-wing "common enemy" to retrench Nationalism.
