A Trump supporter started murdering his way through an assassination list of Democratic law makers FIVE MONTHS AGO. He murdered my colleague Melissa Hortman, and her husband Mark — and attempted to assassinate my dear friend John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. I was also on the hit list. WTF

Nicky Krush (D-Chicago) served in the House of Representatives from 1934-1946, at which point Harry Truman appointed him Secretary of Labor
Kruschev considered emigrating to the US as a teenager/young man, interesting to think of him as like a union boss in Detroit or something.

Extremely troubling numbers for the Democrats. They must immediately denounce the San Francisco school district's policies regarding algebra if they're going to regain their edge. Preferably while driving F-150s.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a case where the potential criminal liability incurred by prosecutors in the act of indicting exceeded that alleged in the indictment
NEWS: During a hearing in federal court in VA, prosecutors confirmed that the operative indictment in the case against James Comey was never shown to or voted on by the entire grand jury before it was presented in open court.

Defense counsel argued that’s a complete bar to further prosecution

In a year in which the VP argued that "America is not just an idea," it's worth returning to the Gettysburg Address, delivered on this day 162 years ago.

BREAKING: Prosecutors in the Comey case just told the judge that they’re under orders from the Deputy Attorney Generals’s office not to disclose whether career prosecutors wrote a memo recommending *against* indicting Comey prior to Halligan going to the grand jury.

Stupid ass tweet. “Most people” gives the game away. Trying to start fights instead of understanding the world.
So your contention is that if we removed de facto subsidies for suburban living, we’d discover that most people actually prefer living in city center with no car? Of course, more people would end up doing that – the financial logic would change – but you’re saying Americans would on net PREFER that?
What is a subsidy, Alex?

Whether it's Donald Trump appearing 1700 times in Epstein's emails or some Democrat delegate from the Virgin Islands no one has ever heard of sending a few texts to Epstein once, both sides have their hands very dirty.

can we appreciate just how badly Johnson and Trump played this Epstein vote? total failure of a pressure campaign, delayed for months to ensure it stays in the news and immediately swamps "the Dems caved" as soon as the shutdown ends, and now it passes 427-1

couldn't have gone worse if they tried

The Globe’s opinion editor is James Dao, the guy who commissioned the 2020 Tom Cotton op-ed for the NYT that called for setting the military on American citizens.

Note “commissioned.” He asked Cotton to write it, because Dao is a fascist.

Here's a thread of results from our newest Strength In Numbers/ @verasight.io poll, out today:

- D+5 on generic ballot, grows to D+7 when voters are told Rs control Congress.
- Trump at -16 approval, underwater on inflation by 33 pts and on health care by 26

New poll: Democrats lead the 2026 House generic ballot, and their edge widens when voters are reminded Republicans control Congress
Plus: Voters see both parties as out of touch, but for different reasons; Trump hits new low on pocketbook issues; Large majorities oppose ending ACA subsidies and SNAP, support taxing high earners

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

My wokest opinion is that free movement of people across the globe is a basic human right. The earth belongs equally to all of humanity and restrictions on movement based solely on nationality or citizenship are an affront to God.
