losing the stars is one thing about modernity that makes me genuinely sad. Every year I do an overnight bike ride event through the middle of nowhere and reconnecting with it is an awesome experience, in the traditional sense of the word
Yeah this is a key thing: we literally do not see the night sky with the same intensity and regularity that premodern people did!
If you ever have the experience of seeing a night sky out in the deep countryside you can understand this; it really is a fundamentally different experience, and I can't imagine it not being formative to people.

tbh it's pretty funny reading people proclaiming they'll never buy from a studio that uses AI while journalists in the industry will tell you that pretty much everybody is already using it, some are just more circumspect about saying so for the time being.
