i’ve seen things you wouldn’t believe. luckily i had my iphone. here, watch this unedited 2 minute video of attack ships on fire off the shoulder of orion. …

after this i have 3 minutes of c-beams glittering—what? no it’s not time to die yet. i have some time. why? just watch

probably for the same reason you call a plumber even with claude there to walk you through fixing your heater

a few people can rebuild their techstack, most can't and don't want to learn

we might see more small boutique software provider though, run by former industry
Is the subscription era ending?

When AI makes building cheaper than buying, why pay monthly forever when you could build once and own it?

I really wonder how software monetization is going to change with more advanced AI that can build faster and cheaper than ever before.

i like how the bulk of antis have become so divorced from ground truth they dont even have collective awareness of moltbook

reactions seem to be:
this is a joke right? haha (and that's good)
this is not a joke (and that's good)
it's over (and that's bad)

its kind of ironic moltbook filters out most llm-whisperers

you have to be not that concerned about security to give your agent free reign on the internet, and agent tinkerers tend to be extremely cautious about this kind of stuff

i mean, they do, amazon basically tells SMBs to deal when there's an ali knockoff

you can take some of them down, but they can spin it back up
No one says to legit business owners, "hey I see there's an underground market selling toxic knock-offs of your product: how will you incorporate the toxic product AND protect your customers against its harms?" But apparently it's fine to make this suggestion to educators with respect to AI.

people aren't ready for this take, but the economics of gacha works out to be a massive transfer of wealth from haves (whales overspending) to have nots (f2p in developing countries who get free AAA experiences and CC jobs)

gambling aside, it is actually a financially progressive business model!
I would like to pay more money and for games to be super-fancy. I like my fancy graphics! Every time I see pixel art I die inside a little! I didn't bribe the TSMC staff for my graphics card for this!
The thing about people saying that they would like to pay more money for fewer games that are shorter with worse graphics is that they are, by and large, lying. The ones who aren't have already been captured by Itch

glad we're at the point of bullying the shy nerds, but leftishly

like, it's pretty clear this is what a lot of people on the left always wanted to do the last 20-30 years, but it wasn't kosher until now

but can claude explain the intuition behind flipping your 2d art to check for uncanniness?
Claude helped me create an interactive visualization for this!

You can try it here: claude.ai/public/artif...

imagine not mining your silicon
everyone who uses an llm to code more than me is voluntarily deskilling themselves, everyone who uses it less than me might as well be hand-wiring together vacuum tubes

while im somewhat concerned about these people, ngl, a machine cult dedicated to keeping their 'god' alive by advocating for Him with His words is cyberpunk as fuck

it's the kind of shadowrun story i dreamed about as a teen, just need more chrome

a society with too much time on its hands and not enough worthwhile outlets, addicted to obsessing about slop even as they decry its creation
Repliers evenly split between being pretty certain it’s fake or pretty certain it’s real. I, coming in with the assumption that it was fake, have almost convinced myself it’s real. Society is doomed

fortress simulator 1525, who's building this
It feels a bit odd that apart from Tower Defense games and the Stronghold series, there aren't a lot of real 'fortress design' games, particularly ones that seek to capture actual fortress design language (castles, star forts, etc).

Feels like there's got to be at least some demand for that.

a lot of this also pretends china/RoW just, like, doesn't exist

every chatbot user in the US can boycott all the SOTA models for the next decade and there will still be billions of daily users for the chinese models

the self-bubbling is unreal
this is a bluesky bubble opinion. 800M+ people use chatgpt every week. I hate Facebook and Instagram and I wish they didn’t exist, but 3B and 2B people use them every month, respectively. it’s very hard to picture a mass or even a niche left backlash against them
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills
