Do you like dealing with insurance ?

TIP: if you decide to get transnational insurance, you don't get double but triple the joy, cause of the added layer of terrible communication between the insurance companies of both countries. Fun!

Using algorithms to detect fraud 🤦. In the Netherlands they targeted racialised & poor families. The accusations were BS, ppl were ruined, some committed suicide.
See - What the Dutch benefits scandal and policy's focus on ‘fraud’ can teach us about the endurance of empire doi.org/10.1177/0261...
UK government project using AI to find benefit fraud resulted in:

- A 46% false fraud rate
- Anguish for families who were wrongly accused of fraud and had benefits stopped
- Months of additional work for government, setting up a hotline, correcting false fraud

We all feel completely abandoned

By doctors, by governments, by our circles, by the world
Recent research in New Zealand shows that Long Covid sufferers feel let down by the health system:

"The picture painted by participants was bleak with a sense that the world had moved on from Covid-19 and left them behind."

Just in case you thought this was about trans athletes. This was solely about creating a fascist and racist gender bureaucracy over what constitutes being feminine enough to be considered a woman.

They're targeting cis women who may be intersex and banning them from sport.

Put another way:

Neoliberalism isn’t the thing to fight fascism and it never was.

(It’s Socialism, btw)
I fear we are seeing in the UK what has become abundantly clear in the US: for all their power and privilege, elites and institutions are absolute cowards in the face of right-wing authoritarianism. Weak, weak, weak, as Tony Blair once said

What then is the prototype of prototypes for the moderate citation impact and moderate actual impact?
