I better see the delivery robots out there with snow plows first thing tomorrow morning.
If they want to use the sidewalks they need to start earning their keep.

my annual public service announcement.

Basically, waddle on ice--flat feet, center gravity over the front foot. It's lovely snow at the moment, but I think there will be a lot of unshoveled sidewalks turning to ice because feet are trampling the ice and this is a long duration storm.

I immediately fell in love with a local artist on Chirp radio, looked them up and found they are playing a show at a venue I adore — only to discover it’s on a night I can’t make it 😭

I love that the ruling is “Chicago fucking rules, fuck the liars and the haters”
After reading Carl Sandburg's "Chicago' poem in full in open court this morning, Federal Judge Sarah Ellis says this about our city:

It should go without saying that is she correct & Donald Trump is lying. #chicago

All this so that we can pay cops OT to hang out in groups of 10 and eat food at Taste of Chicago
This is why they’re seriously discussing cutting the library budget.

This is why our schools are underfunded.

This is why we can’t #PlowTheSidewalks

Crime is down, way down, but the police are defunding our city.

There is no rational way to justify this. It must end.
The Chicago Police Department spent more than its City Council-approved budget in five of the last six years, costing Chicago taxpayers more than $501.2 million in unanticipated expenses, records show.

The new witness slip user face is much easier on mobile now
It’s witness slip time! 🚨

Transit funding bill SB2111 has been assigned to committee and we need folks to file witness slips as PROPONENT immediately!

The attached graphic provides guidance for submitting a slip.

This is the most accurate depiction of the Midwest to date. Wichita has always felt like the last Midwest city while also being the first plains city.

Hi @npr.org! We worked late tonight putting together this handy pocket guide!

It doesn't address road design issues, but if we're going to educate road users, we should include drivers.

It's the size of a folded business card. Print it, fold it, put it in your wallet!

Chicago has no respect for its river history. I am once again back on my campaign to change one of the Chicago Flag stars to represent the reversal of the Chicago River
Organizations, including Friends of the Chicago River and Friends of the Forest Preserves, are pushing to change the name of the canal to something more inspired. The current name, supporters of the change say, is too focused on the canal’s past. trib.al/r08WPyD
Canal that famously reversed the Chicago River deserves a better name, group says
The Chicago Ship and Sanitary Canal was originally dug to help change the flow of the Chicago River when it opened 1900. But now advocates are asking the public for suggested monikers that better reflect the canal's current and future uses.

That’s so cool! Montreal’s bike share system is rolling out trailers that work on BIXIs as well as personal bikes.

They’re hoping to have 50 by the end of the summer, and hundreds over the next few years.

In case you're wondering how big of a deal this is, it applies to almost any parcel in a "transit-served" location. And that includes most of the city!
