The threads numbers are lies. It's true people engage with the bait there daily, an unknown actually spend serious time there, but most of it is because meta promotes threads content on both Instagram and Facebook **and gives threads credit for the view time** - here's a high performing post I had.

I see a lot of people being like "what's the deal with the deranged bluesky elders" and basically it's that in the before times there were a lot of people who made it their mission to drive people they didn't like off the platform & that's how they got their following

This made more sense at the time because 1) there was no block feature, so there wasn't really any way to get away from shitheads, and 2) being invite-only meant a bad actor could gradually spawn in progressively greater amounts of horrible people
