I’m hearing people freak about a military deployment to Minneapolis but it doesn’t change much. It’s scarier but the same. We still outnumber them 100 to 1. They have more guns than us either way. They can shoot us either way. They’ll probably be easier to find and follow if they’re in a tank.

There is a nonzero chance this all ends with the Virginia and Maryland National Guards occupying DC along with defecting DC Guardsmen, and every member of the Trump cabinet dead or in exile.

Minnesota appears to be in gear for a mass uprising. Unions, community organizations, faith leaders, and small businesses there are calling for a statewide day of “no work (except for emergency services), no school, and no shopping” on January 23 @lfelizleon.bsky.social reports 🧵1/7
The beating heart of a fighting labor movement is in Minnesota. One of the key battles for the future of working people will be determined there. Trump’s goons are treating their assault on the state as a workshop for what to do next. Solidarity is the answer.

Would be wilder if it took 70 years for anyone to figure this out?
it would be wild if the way to get around Taft-Hartley turned out to be just lying when asked 'is this a general strike'
every single successful general strike in US history has had union backing through the local AFL-CIO

this is the first time it’s been called for since the 1940s

The Minneapolis AFL-CIO calling for a general strike is a big deal and we should treat it like a big deal.

Also it's a good idea. LFG

Fucking epic
In the grand scheme this is not the most important thing that happened today.

But "protesters eagerly sift through the equipment and papers left behind by the regime's routed elite security forces" historically happens at a much later stage of regime collapse than this.

Theyre doing alot of shit that makes zero political sense. Im not convinced they believe they'll never give up power so I'm just left with "oops all instant gratification for the worst people in American history"
I truly do not understand why they think continuing to go after Kelly, Slotnik, et al is a political winner. The only thing I can think of is that this is being driven by a Trump personal vendetta, or this is Miller and Hegseth preemptively raging against someone questioning their authority.
