It wasn’t impossible - the cops where there to incite violence. And Albanese (and everyone else) knew this would happen and he let it.

We cannot ignore what we can see with our own eyes.

This was state violence.

And the blame lies with the NSW Labor government for attempting to shut down legitimate protest, and the federal Labor government who invited the head of a state committing genocide to our shores.

Always amazing to see in real time the absolute failure of the conservative cultural movement, whose existence is only recognized at all thanks to billions in astroturfing money and years of gaming recommendation algorithms. They know it's all fake too but can't help but be frustrated by that

Very sad to share the news of this legend of Australian political cartooning, and art. Dear Jon Kudelka has died, and we will be the poorer and more dull for his passing.
Sending love and condolences to his family.
What a legacy of scorching wit and joyful capturing of life he leaves.

Jon Kudelka is gone. A sweet-souled man who could see the world all too clearly and still find the joy and the beauty in it. An awful, irreparable loss. Thinking of his family and friends.

You know, it’s just possible to feel really bad about the violent deaths of Israeli Jews, the genocide in Palestine and the deaths of Australian Jews all while being neither anti-Semitic or Islamophobic.

Somehow that has become impossible for the political class.

You’d like to believe that somehow a visit by the president of a genocidal state will help to heal Jewish grief?

Sure, believe what you like. I don’t agree, but go ahead.

But telling folks — many of whom are also grieving — not to protest against genocide? Absurd.

Let’s have a little clarity here.

Israel is committing a genocide against Palestinians. Multiple authorities confirm this.

And Israel’s president “declined to express the least reservation” about this genocide.

Of course folks will protest his visit here. Folks *including* Jewish Australians.
