My fourteenth book came out earlier this year, and I feel exactly as Sam does. In fact, I suspect I enjoy writing *more* now than when I wrote my debut.
The writing is the thing.
The writing is the thing.
Sometimes I wonder if our many years of jokes about writers hating writing and doing anything but writing, etc, have convinced people that the writing part is the hurdle and the goal is just to have a thing in hand. But I am here to tell you: the writing is the best part. The act is the thing.

Amazing moment in time right now where people who yelled at us for sticking to genocide as a red line are now also disgusted with Democrats and threatening not to vote for them. So your health insurance becoming more expensive was your red line?

I love* how the UK and Australia are currently echoing one another in the worst ways.
The supposed party of labour licking the corporate & xenophobic boot. The national broadcaster trying desperately to appease those who hate it.

No more noble British tradition than resigning over some nonsense everyone is only pretending to be angry about rather than all of the actually bad things you've done.
