I love how Antiques Roadshow has just said “fuck it” and gone for Gen X nostalgia now, cos that’s your audience. This week they wheeled out Empire Strikes Back crew christmas cards and a bloke who’d been given all John Inman’s old panto costumes by Bungle.

Lean into it, guys. More please.

Jewelry shops in towns and cities Spain would have an unofficial common fund during the dictatorship in case Franco’s wife visited a shop as she would want everything for free and no one would dare refuse.
It earned her the nickname Carmen Necklaces.
This is the same but with more money.
This exciting resolution from Rutgers University Senate is exactly the kind of model I think higher ed needs: a mutual defense pact of, in this case, Big 10 schools. They call for member institutions to create a joint defense fund and make resources available to any member institution under attack.

On Monday our instagram account was hacked and then deleted. We received a ransom note to recover it; obviously we couldn't and wouldn't pay, and therefore lost thousands of followers. Meta support was useless. But we're BACK with a new account: @littletollerbooks. Can you follow us there and share?

Reminder: the cat is still missing. Please do check where you live.
North London: @chrischirp.bsky.social has lost her cat. Please check your garden, shed, garage etc. Full contact details below.
Our beautiful cat, Katniss, is missing!
We've looked everywhere for her locally, plus have put up posters and local online adverts.

We think she might have jumped in a car or van and ended up further afield. If you are in North London (NW5 and surrounds), please keep an eye out!

details below.
