We're kicking off the new year at Wind&Bones Books with this lovely digital-only short, from Bulgarian writer Martina Mustafova — a lovely essay about motherhood, grief, care, and what it means to outlive — or be outlived by — those you love.

A large-scale blackout in Berlin: tens of thousands of Germans are without electricity, and restoration is promised by January 8th.

The cause is a sabotage: unknown individuals set fire to a power station.

As I close in on the end of The Scapegoat, I cannot wait for the man to stab Buckingham dead, and think the British would have been excused for removing Charles I way sooner than they did.

Quick note to anyone thinking of buying my books: please purchase the new Swift Press versions, NOT the relatively small number of Unbound versions still knocking about, & being sold by OOINYA. Unbound stopped paying me for my work early in 2024 and I will never see a penny for these books.

Okay they're using multiple BSL interpreters, which makes sense because they can't do more than about an hour at a time, so I hope they will be acknowledged en masse at some point (beyond the credits). #Taskmaster

I don't want to complain about Taskmaster, but they haven't introduced the BSL interpreter, who is as much on stage as anyone else. Hope they do so when they introduce Rose.
