Today I am wondering about the insights we could have about the brain if we didn't insist that it recapitulates western power structures
For example, to what degree are our hypotheses about prefrontal cortex limited because we call its processes "executive functions" instead of like, "mothering"

Enjoying a short holiday with coffee, a slice of Mom’s poppyseed cake, and the brand new new murder mystery by @sherrythomas.com. Sherry Thomas wrote Ravishing the Heiress, the book that first got me hooked on romance novels if you don’t count Jane Austen

If I were a scientist of human motor learning I would study students as they learn the skill of walking backwards while reciting a script for an entire 60 minute campus tour

a nonzero amount of wanting to ban it is because the chatGPT using people are annoying
‘Study after study shows that students want to develop these critical thinking skills, are not lazy, and large numbers of them would be in favor of banning ChatGPT and similar tools in universities’, says @olivia.science www.ru.nl/en/research/...
‘Opposing the inevitability of AI at universities is possible and necessary’ | Radboud University
Since the widespread release of ChatGPT in December of 2022, AI has taken over much of the world by storm – including academia. Most of this happened with very little pushback, despite a myriad of iss...

Your chilly sneer
Of cold command
Your trunkless legs
Upon the sand
Once awed the Persian, Turk,
And Damascene
A pedastal
Beside your smirk
Proclaims “Look up,
You lazy jerk!
Behold the mighty work
Of great
Jolene.”
Of cold command
Your trunkless legs
Upon the sand
Once awed the Persian, Turk,
And Damascene
A pedastal
Beside your smirk
Proclaims “Look up,
You lazy jerk!
Behold the mighty work
Of great

i never saw two trunkless legs
i never hope to see 'em
but i can tell you, anyhow,
i'd rather see than be 'em

Now Ozymandias was from the Himalayas, where a cold wind howls and blows.
Why he left his home in the peaks to roam 'round the sands, God only knows.
His statue fell down, the desert's boundless and completely bare;
Though it's still scrawled on his pedestal that "ye Mighty should despair!"

They're calling him the most French man in history
A French cyclist survived for three days after a horrendous 130-foot fall into a ravine, kept alive by the bottles of red wine he had in his shopping bag, police said.

I've got friends in high places (the sky)
What a charming #Egyptian bronze figure of a shrew! Since shrews are animals that find their way in the dark they were connected to the descending phase of the sun’s nocturnal journey. Late Period (746-332 B.C).

Finally a bit of justice: the NCAA owes $18 million for knowingly inflicting head trauma on a former SC State football player. Think of the precedent this sets.

Perhaps it's a sign? Perhaps taste testing tiny jam jars and getting mad about it is a young woman's game. Or a very old woman's game. And yet I'm so suited
