Bad framing: ACIP voted to scrap the universal hepatitis B vaccine recommendation for newborns.

Accurate framing: Anti-vax conspiracy theorists appointed to ACIP by Robert Kennedy Jr., who made a fortune as an anti-vax profiteer, voted to expose babies to a preventable, incurable, deadly illness.

Appreciate @umairfan.bsky.social reaching out to ask about our personal experience with flooding as part of the greater discussion of a complex economic and societal issue.

The US has long had a program designed to help surviving homeowners financially devastated by floods. But at a moment when so many are trying to return home and the costs of flood recovery are rising, the National Flood Insurance Program is sinking deeper into the red.

My father and all four of my uncles served in WWII, one in the second landing of D-Day. Three of them became centrist establishment Republicans, and I often wonder what they would think of the GOP and the direction of our country now.
As we mark the 80th anniversary of WWII's end, I’ve come to believe that in losing that Greatest Generation, we are losing more than just the memories of combat. We are losing the memory and experience of what it means to fight fascism and authoritarianism. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/what-we-lo...
What We Lost When We Lost the Greatest Generation

Regulation does not impede progress. It only impedes liars, grifters, poisoners and profiteers. The people who benefit from regulation are the many, and the people who benefit from deregulation are the very, very few who think exploitation of others is a benefit

99% of the answers are depressing American stories about medical bills, 1% is an Australian who found a wombat burrowing under their house.
