You're on earth. There's no cure for that.
If so, do the dancing animated intermission snacks they used to show at old movies belong to the same subspecies?
Someone said the Kool Aid man is a “small Kaiju” which I agree with.

Is Ronald McDonald a cryptid?

Teaching Joyce to first-years for the first time in forever, to a generation that had never heard of him before now. They are managing though! From The New Yorker, Sept 25th, 1989. Not sure of the artist.

Intro English Lit final project assignment: analyze something canonical we didn't discuss in class. The choices are interesting! Several Donne fans. Cowper's "Castaway" as a fan favorite though? Yikes. One of them picked The Waste Land, but wasn't sure if it was canonical. Now I feel very very old.

Reminder for new users here:

Stately, plump Buck Mulligan came from the stairhead, bearing a bowl of lather on which a mirror and a razor lay crossed.

For friends who have just joined, three ways to get started:

1. Search for famous people whose ideas you value, or are fun. Add them. Follow who they follow.
2. Say amusing things on people's feeds! Post stuff yourself!
3. Find some "starter packs" Here's one to get you going.

It's all been rather unexpected. Obama, glancing down at his own hands completely deadpan, like an adult choosing to completely ignore a child's antics made me snort laugh.
Go back in time to May and tell yourself that someone is going to try to shoot Trump, then Joe Biden is going to drop out, then the dems will execute a flawless pivot to Harris, and then we'll spend 3 weeks talking about JD Vance fucking a couch and then Obama will make a dick joke at the DNC

Stately, plump Tom Emmer came from the elevator, bearing a chamber pot in which the Republican platform lay crossed.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a Republican party no longer in possession of a its senses or values, must be in want of a speaker.

Does anybody else pronounce the name of this place in their head "Bloosky" so it sounds like a Polish name? I do, and then end up thinking too much about John Belushi, or calling it "The Big Labluesky". My head is an exhausting place sometimes.
