The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

The bigger fight? Buddy, I die without health care and your pals in the Senate — none of whom will ever go without access to lifesaving medical care — told me they were gonna fight so my premiums don't go up 50%. And then they folded.
But there are real dangers out there that must be fought; and energy spent fighting each other is energy lost to that bigger fight.

#uspoli This is an interesting thread. I would advise Dems, though, to loudly declare themselves the party who wants people to live. Be proud of SNAP. Be proud of Social Security & the ACA (or more). Be proud of immigrants. Stop treating these concepts & the people that are or use them as shameful.
