Here it is, your #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Sunday, 1/4/26. Both fingers fully and firmly extended on every one of my commutes.
If you can do so, riding a bike daily is a really good middle finger to the oil barons ruining the world.

Here it is, your #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Saturday, 1/3/25. And, yes, DC has a cargo bike lending library. Mind. Blown.
Congratulations to Paula from NE DC - our very first official borrower! Over the next 5 days, she plans to bike her 4-year-old to preschool and neighborhood adventures. We're so excited for them both!

Members of Congress: stop posting online and APPEAR, PHYSICALLY on the steps of the Capitol to decry this unconstitutional violation of domestic & international law. SHOW THE PEOPLE the level of danger we are facing as a country.

@bsky.app Love Mina, but, why do I keep getting hwr 12 day old posts (and those of other sports accounts) in my current Discover feed?

@bsky.app Loving the increase in sports traffic I’m encountering, but, wondering why my Discover feed is littered with, 9, 10, 11 day old, etc., sports posts (and only sports posts) - many of them repeats. Love fresh sports content, but, could do without repeated comments on 9 day old Knicks games

Here it is, your New Year’s Day #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Thursday, 1/1/26. What an awesome milestone!
Another year gone by, and that makes 3 full calendar years without driving a car: 2023, 2024, 2025. Last time driving was a few months after moving to Seattle. I have a valid driver's license and access to a car, but I choose to bike and use public transit instead. I own four bikes, though. 🚲❤️

Good stuff! Mobility is the life-blood of NYC and should be the same for every city.
“Mike will be a strong voice for Mayor Mamdani and for all New Yorkers in making transportation work for them, and for turning proposals into projects in the ground that will make the city’s streets safer, more accessible and affordable.” Via @nyc.streetsblog.org

Mike Flynn. Sounds good to me. #NYC
Confirmed! Mamdani Has Chosen Mike Flynn for DOT Commissioner: Sources - Streetsblog New York City
Who is Mike Flynn, Mayor-elect Mamdani's apparent pick to be the city's next Department of Transportation Commissioner?

I heard him give a (very brief, there was a 2 minute time limit, as per @me3dia.bsky.social) talk about this in early Jan, and it stayed with me all year. Give it a read.
Facing a new year, I found this @dansinker.com post from February — about how the KKK in the 1920s felt unstoppable, about the people that fought against them anyway, and about how fascism always fails — to be a welcome read.

Here it is, your #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Tuesday, 12/30/25. One of life’s universal truths in action. Show me a flexi-post more than a week old, and I’ll show you evidence of damage from an errant car -
Nothing like a visual reminder that flex posts are there to protect cars from damage. Not to protect cyclists.

My favorite bike memory of 2025 was the return of CicloSDias to San Diego. Love, love, love, open streets events (which we should have, at least, monthly, but, really weekly).

Here it is, your #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Monday, 12/29/25. Strong, late, contender for Bike Content of the Year!
David Byrne dinged his bike bell at me as I was locking up to get a slice at Pizza Suprema (my butt was encroaching the bike lane).
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

When Bill McKibben speaks, we all need to listen. I just want to figure out how I can get these cheap, efficient, new panels on my house -
The US invented the solar panel & wind turbine, notes @billmckibben.bsky.social:
"We could have owned these technologies, & instead we’ve just ceded them to our theoretical main rival... I don’t think there’s been an act of national self-sabotage quite like this." www.theguardian.com/environment/...
