Three weeks after the storm, the snowcrete is morphing into fabulous swooping curves, caves and hoodoos. At the same time, the ice on the Potomac is cracking into marvelous geometric mosaics and montages of stark shapes but with some gorgeous curves out there too.

This evening’s eye level sunset blast facing west down Wilson Blvd was far more blinding and impressively large than this photo from inside the car captured. I know it’s a perspective trick that makes the sun orb appear huge on the horizon, but the intensity blew out the pic anyway.
