No one's happy, but Dems had a fantastic week. TAKE THE WIN, and focus on the ACA fight and possible yearend shutdown.

Let's see what Liddle Mikey Johnson does now. To approve the deal, he has to reconvene Congress ... and swear in Grijalva ... which will lead to a vote on the Trumpstein files.
This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

Yeah, it's a shit deal. We were betrayed, but it was a great week for Dems. Take the win, be happy that poor kids will get some food, and focus on the next battle over the ACA a month from now ... and very possibly another shutdown.
I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.

This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.

So, you're going to invest all your time, energy, and money on internecine warfare, while the real enemies -- that is, every single Republican -- run amok and spread their poison.
Sounds like a plan.

Shaheen will always be remembered as a sell-out, a Quisling.
But we cannot dwell on her or the other shameful 7. We have more important work to do.

It’s almost as if…our political system is not equipped to deal with a far right authoritarian party
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

Seems like Angus isn't much of a fighter.
He's not a Dem, of course. Dems are usually made of sterner stuff.
The best way to control a narcissist is to *recognize* his manipulative behavior and then set and *maintain* appropriate boundaries. Note: all of his behavior is manipulative and self-serving, so *maintaining* appropriate boundaries is the only way forward. If not, we all lose.

Maine now has two Senators to be ashamed of. One entirely corrupt and always "concerned"; the other just cowardly and unreliable in a fight. You don't want Angus as your wingman.

Are they bringing her little girls, too?
Ghislaine Maxwell, the Epstein confidante and child sex trafficker, is being waited on “hand and foot” by the staff at her minimum security prison camp while she prepares a request that Donald Trump commute her sentence, according to whistleblower revelations. More on @morningjoe-msnbc.bsky.social

We worried too. But Democrats should take the win.
Americans blamed Republicans for this shutdown, poor people will be fed, at least for a while, last week we won a blowout election, and we'll be back fighting for Obamacare in a month.
"If I were in the Senate, I wouldn’t vote for this compromise. Shutdowns are an opportunity to make your arguments, and the country was just starting to pay attention... I worry that Democrats have just taught Trump that they will fold under pressure."

Yes, we are very disappointed that 8 Dems got weak in the knees and capitulated to a Fascist. But poor kids will be fed, and we'll continue to fight for the ACA. Cheerleading for a civil war is unhelpful. We need serious people to solve serious problems, and you're proving you're not serious.

They need to call out Trumpstein AND the Supremely Corrupt Roberts Court majority.

Is the shutdown over? Not yet.
Tonight’s vote was only step 1 of 5.
There’s still another 60-vote hurdle, amendments, AND then the House.
Pressure matters right now—especially on Kaine, Rosen, Hassan, Shaheen.
Stay loud.

There will be another 60 vote Friday* on the garbage shutdown deal. If we can convince just one Senator from the 52 republicans and 8 Dems that voted yes to flip, we could still stop this. Please jump on the phone today, call them, and share this widely.

Richie's right.
A principled deal was possible, but ignoring the reality of skyrocketing costs doesn’t earn my vote.

It’s just another day in Trump’s economy for workers and their families.

For that, I'm still a no.
