(🧵) This thread from a retired journalism professor who helped usher in the era of metajournalism in the 2010s—and has written a book on the relationship between Trump and Epstein as part of his NYT-bestselling Proof Series—explains how to report properly on the Trump-Epstein Scandal.

Here we go.

I don't think legacy media is reading the room correctly on the Epstein Files. Many of us are asking why they have ignored this story for the last decade? Why did they dismiss all of us who were concerned that Trump might be compromised? And where is their fucking contrition and apology now?

I am crossing my fingers and toes that AOC primaries Chuck Schumer.
Senate Democrats asked for a year of ACA subsidies and were told to fuck off.

So they came back and asked for a pinky promise to hold a vote on ACA subsidies that they will assuredly lose?

Seriously?
From what I have seen so far this does not seem like a good deal:

Corporate media is completely ignoring the dangers of The SAVE Act. Here's what you need to know about this attempt to gut voting rights, particularly for tens of millions of women in America, and how we need to fight back to protect our democracy.

It seems bad that the U.S. dollar has lost over 10% of its value since Trump took office. Maybe the president should do something about that?

The story of 2024 is this: Trump had a plan to destroy American government called Project 2025, which had, literally, not a typo, a 4% approval rating. He lied constantly and said he wouldn't do it.

Then he entered office and immediately implemented AN EVEN MORE EXTREME VERSION OF IT.

So if you think you canceled, double check. The process involves multiple confirmation emails. If you only received one, you might be stuck halfway.

New data shows that for every millionaire who got a Trump tax cut, four Americans will lose their health insurance.
Republican Megabill’s Tax Cuts for Millionaires Are Financed by Taking Health Insurance From 4.7 Million People | Center on Budget and Policy Priorities
The tax cuts for millionaires in the law — averaging $80,000 per household — will cost the same as the health care cuts that will take health insurance away from 4.7 million people by 2034.

Honestly, this may be one of the most important media graphs I've ever seen.

The claim: Democrats keep using annoying words.
The data: Republicans CLAIMS Democrats use them, which then becomes the narratives.

Then centrists attack DEMS for things GOPer CLAIM they say, not GOP for making stuff up.
Privilege - used way more by Republicans
