Releasing 20,000+ pages of Epstein files related documents as .jpgs via a shared google drive owned by oversight.gop.119 is sorta wild, but also sort of exactly where we're at.

The drive: drive.google.com/drive/folder...

I reiterate re: Epstein Files
if the Senate comes up with a shut down deal, the house will have to come back to vote to pass it.

Speaker Johnson will have to swear in Adelita Grijalva.

She will be the 218th signature on a discharge petition for the Epstein files.

The congress show will move into the next episode

It's 394 pages, but if you want to peruse the Senate amended continuing resolution (through Jan 30, 2026) that the House will be voting on later today here it is:

Health care premiums are going up for lots.

There might be an argument that not extending ACA subsidies brings insurance costs down in the long run b/c companies can't bank on guaranteed gov. $ subsidizing individual buyers.

In the interim, this seems like a hard midterm environment for the GOP.

The vote in the Senate that cleared 60 people was the cloture vote for the House bill (H.R. 5371)

That bill only funds the government through Nov 21 (it's not the "deal")

The Senate deal bill is S.3168 (the text is not up yet)

It will still have to clear the House (& that's not guaranteed)

Rand Paul (R-KY) still voted against the cloture motion in the Senate www.senate.gov/legislative/...

If we think others should follow Pelosi's lead to retirement from Congress there are 6 others members serving now who are older than her:

- Hal Rogers (R-KY) 87
- Maxine Waters (D-CA) 87
- Steny Hoyer (D-MD) 86

There are a growing number of official congressional e-newsletters talking about "delisting" animals from the Endangered Species list.

Recent mentions include the gray wolf, mexican wolf, and grizzly bear.

NYC closed primary v. general election totals by borough.

Margins in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens stayed pretty consistent.

Mamdani did better in the Bronx in then general, and Cuomo did better in Staten Island (closed primary rules probably doing much of the work in primary margins)
